Hm, I don't know, how to reproduce this bug. Check with shaman hero, druid hero, thief hero, with or without Minsc and Jaheira in party - and with all combinations I successfully passed this dialogue and this branch in 2.1.63.2 version.

To Hoonster: are you sure you play 2.1.63.2? Similar bug fixed in 2.0.62.2.

Holy shit, I didn't realize there were so many replies on this thread.

To answer some questions : Yes, I checked whether the game was up-to-date. I have used GOG galaxy's Verify/Repair function to make sure. Unless there is a bug in GOG galaxy itself, I am pretty confident that I have the latest version of the game.

For the save file, I have moved on from the quest and currently in Watcher's keep. I will find the save file and upload it for others to verify.
