Just tried it, vanilla unmodded BG1. Party members are able to pass into many buildings alone just fine. Couldn't specifically try using the trick to split an NPC pair because I don't have an appropriate save but party members left inside don't initiate dialogue unless the rest of the party enters too, so it should work.

Yes, you are correct. It appears that only certain doors require the entire party to be assembled. I just removed Khalid inside a house in Beregost. My sincere apologies for any misinformation.
My experince is that if it requires an area transition then you need to gather the whole team and if it's just a door transition then you don't need to do that. But I do like Khalid so I keep him around all the time. If you feel he is too weak, simple give him equipment that modify attributes.
Hey I decided to start the game all over since I really need an attacking mage so I need Dyneheir, any way my question:

I wanted to get a party like this:

Fighter
Paladin
Thief
Druid
Priest
Mage

But problem is that the Mage I want is Dyneheir thus I have to bring along Minsc who is a Ranger, so I have not choice but to sacrifce a class and its the Druid, my question that Druids in the end really good or now that I have a mage I don't need a Druid

Also the Druids in this game are not like say World of Warcraft's Druids Gameplay wise (WOW pretty much is the best when it comes to RPG classes IMO)

No, you don't have to take Minsc along at all. Pick him up and take him inside of a building that you are never likely to go into again. A private house, for example. Drop him off. Now go and get Dynaheir. Problem solved.

Too late I took him with me in the Gnoll Fortress :(

WHY DID I NOT THOUGHT OF THAT?!

Anyways are Druids not important anymore now that I have a Mage and a Priest?

Also a quick BG 2 question, does BG2 also have couple compainions where you have to have both people?

olnorton: No.
Baldur's Gate II is better :P

So anyway can I just write having a Druid in my party since I have Mage and Priest?

Yes, you don't need a druid.
1. Yes it does, I'd Prefer Good Alignments Because they are Easier to follow. Your Alignment Affects Your Party Greatly.

2.18/ Strength ,18 Dex, 18 con, Int 3, Wis,3 char 3

3.Yes, Fighter, Ranger, Cleric/fighter, and Necromancer Mage would make a good party (fighter= Khalid ranger= Minsc Cleric/figter is the most powerful class in the game, I suggest you make a Cleric/Fighter, Necromancer= Xzar

Silly question but:

Is it still possible to beat this game without Drizzt's Uber Scimitars?

EDIT: Also where is this Droth fellow, he has this really good Helmet I like to get( Helmet of Defense), and the guide I am reading says he is in this area:

http://mikesrpgcenter.com/bgate/maps/southofcandlekeep.html

But he is not there, I looked all over until there was no fog of war and no one named Droth appeared?

No you don't need Drizzt's scimitars.

Around the top centre of that map you will come across a sirine Nereid, She will want to kiss you, which will kill you, so get someone else to talk to her.
If you don't kill her too quickly, you will get a chance to talk to her again & she will tell you about an ogre (Droth) who has some sort of hold on her, & about then he will show up.

I'm really struggling to think why anyone would make a game unbeatable without a set of items that you can quite easily miss. I have killed him on both playthroughs, but that's more out of spite and boredom than anything else.

Hickory: 'Dungeons & Dragons' is a fantasy (war/role)gaming monica, not a literal title of content -- although Dragons do exist in the virtual world, in BG1 the protagonist simply doesn't encounter them, which is just as well, as it would be certain death (assuming hostilities). But I think you knew that, right? :)

Elmofongo: Just a little dissipointed that the first great D&D RPG in video game form lacks Dragons.
Except that is not the case, the first great D&D game is Pool of Radiance, which does include a dragon, albeit a possessed bronze dragon, but a dragon none the less.

Hey I am finished this quest by helping diggers unearth some ruins of an old civilization and there is this Idol that when taken summons a Doomslayer which cannot be hurt.

My party consist of:

Fighter
Paladin
Ranger
Thief
Cleric
Invoker

How do I hurt the Doomslayer?
