Elmofongo: Also are crossbow a part of the Bow skill or missle weapons skill?
Missile weapon skill in BG, a separate proficiency in BG2/BGTutu/BGT.

X-Bows are Missile weapon skill. "Bows" refers only to L. Bows and S. Bows.

Ok one of my characters Imoen is dead, but strange I always thought this game had permanent party member death, anyway what are the concequnce of dying and how do I revive them if I can.
There is permanent death, but it doesn't happen every time. I think it has to do with whether or not the blow that killed them is a critical hit, and some spells do it as well. Either way, when someone permanently dies, suffice to say there is no corpse to reanimate and their icon will disappear from the screen to the right.

Revive dead party members at any temple for a fairly hefty fee.
Don't think people can permanently die on lower difficulty settings. But from Core and upwards they can, if they receive a lot of damage in the killing blow. I've heard that if their hitpoints are taken to -10 they get chunked, but not sure if that is correct. In any case, they most certainly can perma-die from normal combat, in addition to some spells (Finger of Death for example).

Permanent death occurs (on core level and above) if the character suffers enough damage to take their health below a threshold (-10 HP on core). The consequence of permanent death is that the member disappears forever. The consequence for restore-able death is that the party member involved suffers a permanent decrease to CON at every death (it is cumulative), and a scaled cost (depending on class and level) for restoration at temples.
Does constitution really decrease? Can't say I've noticed that, and I had to revive some members early in BG2.

Oh is there a time limit to how many days I can play like in Fallout such as if 13 years have past in Fallout 2 its game over?

Infact does any of these RPGs I have has a time limit:

Planescape
Icewind
Arcanum
Divine Divinity
Temple of Elemental Evil

Haven't seen such a time limit in Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment or Baldur's Gate. Some people "abuse" sleeping so they can go fresh into all battles with a full spellbook, so doubt there is a time limit on completing the game. There are some time limits on missions, but not that many. But one if for example that you have 10 days to get to Nashkel in the beginning of BG1.

Don't know about the last three games you mention, since I haven't played them myself.

In vanilla BG1, yes, assuming no mods that take that away. In BG2, I don't think so, but a mage who's familiar dies will be docked -1 CON every time.

Okay, that figures. I played BG1 in Tutu and have never played it in true vanilla.

My progress so far:

I have my fighter at level 2 with plate armor and plenty of potions.

My party includes.

Imoen
Khalid
Jahaira
Minsc
Garrick
and an Invoker I recently got.

Problems are fanancial, things to buy are expensive, I only have 700 gold in this game and potions are too expensive and my magic users lack any healing magic because I do not know where to get scrolls, so I am thinking selling these potions I already have that increasing things like Oil of Speed, Potion of Defense etc, but are they too good to sell or are the stat increase so marginal that you might aswell sell it?

Also do weapons break in this game and other games like it (Planescape, Neverwinter, and Icewind)
If you don't know if you'll ever use a potion there's no need to carry it around. Read the description and decide for yourself whether you'll need it or not. If you sell stuff you can buy it back when you need it. I finished the game without using any potion.

Jaheira is a priest and therefore can't learn spell from scrolls. Just change her memorized spells if you want to cast something else. There are no healing spells for the Garrick or Dynaheir (unless you consider Llarloch's Minor Drain and Vampiric Touch as such).
You will find mage scrolls to scribe during your adventure, just keep exploring everything.

Non-magical iron weapon can break in Baldur's Gate because of the iron crisis. Weapon'S don't break in the other games.

No weapon breaking in Baldur's Gate 2 than?
No weapon breaking in Baldur's Gate 2 then.
