Mothra: well, i installed it and on my win7 x64 dual core installation the grey flickering is gone. but I also get around 3 fps when many monsters are on screen. so I will rather continue playing it on my laptop (single core/xp) although they fixed the aspect ratio and hud. At any rate: thanks a lot for the work ! let's hope gog will release an updated installer.
Try turning on the "Enable rendering fix" option.
After patching it over the GOG release the game no longer silently redirects to VirtualStore (as with v1.19), and so settings and saves and such can't be kept without running as an administrator or editing security permissions. I wonder whether their Vista/7 fixes are the cause of this. Is anyone else experiencing this behaviour?

On the plus side, I can now force antialiasing in the driver without the fonts disappearing. It's wonderful. :)
This is great news. Completely unexpected.

Good thing I didn't play it right last time and had to quit. Now I might be able to play it fully with less bugs.

I hope GOG patches it as soon as possible!
Nice! The patch also seems to fix an old and very irritating bug, where certain savegames loaded to black screen or didn't load at all, rendering said savegames useless. Not so thrilled about the UI scaling fix, the UI is now awfully small at higher resolutions like 1920*1080.

Shit, really? I was really hoping it did. I guess I'll finally get around to playing this.

Yes. I had a few such savegames archived just in case and they all load fine and fast using 1.21
I am really excited about what the fanbase with do with the Source code!
Im sorry but i cant get this patch to install. I am having the same problem that was stated before. That is that it wont let me install it and it keeps saying that i need to make sure i am installing it to the right. Wtf is up with this.

Edit-Disregard previous post, i found out what was wrong. Thanks to arkane for going through the effort :)

I dont know how well the game performed on Win7 before, but after patching I got a lot of "Fatal Memory Errors", Crashes to dektop without notic and some minimizing problems when starting the game.
So is the source code for the patch only or for the full game? I have heard some conflicting reports on that front, i woul love to get some confirmation.

This is the entire source of the full game, but being source-only it doesn't include the assets (textures, music, etc.). This lets the developer/publisher still make a full profit from the game while allowing the fan community to make major improvements (just like Freespace 2, Duke Nukem 3D, etc.)
Oh man, think of the modding capabilities. Personally I'd love to see more cooking options. That actually shouldn't be too hard to add, anyway.

Is there any specification on the file formats? If not figuring it out from how they're read in and parsed shouldn't be too bad.
You could probably make a cooking sim out of it haha. :)

There have been a few minor mods in the past, so at least some of the formats are understood, and the rest can now be figured out with the help of the source code. It would even be possible to add in support for some entirely different format that is properly documented. Having the source opens up all sorts of possibilities.

Yep. I'm currently working on a remake of Ultima Underworlds 1 & 2 (as one enormous game) using the Arx source and CryEngine 2. Should be out next week.

Currently accepting donations *wink*
