Elves - Day 35 in Menuir

After the charges had been read the Queen had chance to defend herself. She argued in length how she has held true to the laws of her country and how she has done no ill but defended her King and his realm. Therefore she partially admitted the charges, but questioned the rightful holder of the title. A sound reasoning on her behalf, but a crime in itself. Tampering with necromancy and dominance of the mind of her subjects she denied for herself and for her husband, which of course is a weak claim in itself against such overwhelming evidence. And a crime too, nowadays. Yet King Minisir admires her fire and bravery. She is clearly craft from different tree than that that of her family name. Perhaps after the hard judgement is passed he could even be the heroe on white horse to save her from the gallows. And with a life debt to him, she would make most obedient and strong wife, taking into consideration that his own wife passed away ages ago.

P.S. Yes, I know my turn logs are getting out of hand, but game itself is not so eventful right now.
And will be out of town until sunday, again.

Dwarfs, Day 35

Our Elven neighbours have found and killed the murderers of the Bloodaxe. The name of King Minisir is toasted to in every dwarfen pub of the realm.

P.S.
True, with you owning 3/4 of the map I believe the end result is kinda obvious but the RP is still nice :)
Elves - Day 36 in Menuir

The trial for the fallen Queen goes on. For the charges she denied evidence is brought forth today. First civilians from Halfling hamlet of Sperin are heard. Civilian eye witnesses tell of the Highmen Inquisitor's conquest of their hamlet and the hastily and violently executed forced conversion attempts that followed. According to ancient laws of the Elven Court forced conversion of the fair races to new Gods is defined as religious dominance and act of hostility. Then captured (and later released) Dwarven soldier that served under the Highmen banner s brought forth. After first babbling about the injustice of his imprisonment in the first place, the soldier finally admitted that he and his two brothers in arms were commanded on suicide mission for no obvious reason. And for reasons beyond his understanding and memory (a week in our lowest dungeons can work wonders on one's memory), they obeyed such insane command, which is provided as proof of "mind control" charge. Last witness that is heard today is an Elven druid, specialized in enchantments. The druid gives statement that "invisibility" to move undetected among the deep woods, grass and mountains requires years of practice in the wilderness or direct connection to nature itself. For a Human, born and brought later to this world, such connection or natural talent can not exist without tampering with magics that involve sacrifice of creatures with such a gift. This indeed is a strong statement that indicates foul channeling of necromancy. The fallen Queen will be given chance to defend herself against this evidence tomorrow.

Turn Sent.

P.S. Yea I would say that 3/4 is about right, but I would estimate that in army strength the difference might be even higher. Would be fun to take this to the end game stage soon.

Dwarfs, Day 36

Following the festivities in memory of the Bloodaxe many elders of the dwarfen council believe the crisis over and the time right to reopen the trade routes for all free folk. I am not yet conviced, as I fear the criminal might be able to sneak into these lands hiding between honest traders and merchants.
For the moment I could persuade the council not to open the roads, but they seem eager to restart the free trade as many a dwarfs purse has become quite strained in these last moons.
Elves - Day 37 in Menuir

The trial for the fallen Queen has to go on without King Minisir's presence, as word arrives from the capital that our Dark Elven brothers have begun invasion from the underground to the Blessed Island, threatening to cut us off from the rich mana supply. Obviously the Dark Elves have become restless for not hearing from us for so long - we did promise them the head of the illusionist after all, but have not managed to deliver anything since the "alternatively brave" villain have seemingly moved deep into the mountains to hide away the remaining years of his life. As King Minisir departs for the capital to deal with this new crisis, he leaves orders to Highmen commander that even though judgmenet can be passed as scheduled, no sentence will be carried out before his arrival. Uncertain times, we live in.

Dwarfs, Day 37

Word from the north brings no news about the perpetrator. I fear that in time the search will slow to a hold as more and more lords are focussing their attention on other causes. The goblin threat is contained for now, but without enough forces to smoke out their holes it may return any day. I have sent a small force to attack one of the remaining goblin strongholds in hope of persuading the council members that we are doing enough against the goblins without weakening the search for this disturber of peace.

OC:
I somehow feel this game would have been quite more interesting without the sudden demise of the halfling leader

Highmen, Day 37

After regaining strength, my convictions stand high. Whispers on the wind speak of a trial of my fair wife. I must return to make my stand as an army of one. Come fire and death! These traitors will face my justice.
Elves - Day 38 in Menuir

On the journey towards capital to solve the current crisis with Dark Elves, word reaches King Minisir that the Highman council has cast judgement on the fallen Queen. After found guilty to all charges, she was sentenced to death, and for the security of the realm, sentence is to be carried out tomorrow! Such betrayal to his direct command! After pausing for a moment to calm his nerves, King Minisir summons two escorting scouts to him. First one is sent Northwest to bring word to Prince to break forces from the manhunt and solve the Dark Elven situation at the best means possible. Other scout is to ride to capital to send additional forces to Highmen realm at once. As the scouts fall to command and disappear from sight, King Minisir rallies his remaining forces and turns back towards North in haste. He must make it in time to save the fallen Queen from the noose!

Turn Sent.

P.S. Yes of course that changed things and tipped the balance further as my Highman invasion forces were able to breach into Halfling realm with perfect timing. I was thinking, maybe for the sake of the game itself we shouldn't wait around for Highmen to accept defeat, but instead prepare for the final battle instead. You can have (within reason) all the time you need, so that the books of history will remember the stand of most Vicious Dwarf in Menuir!

Dwarfs, Day 38

The Elven king has sent word that the search for the fugitive will for now be called of. It seems we are not the only ones to have to content with attacks of goblins and other shady characters. I will call back my scouts into dwarven lands. This should appease the council members and allow us to reopen the trade routes.
Elves - Day 39 in Menuir

A dove carrying a message from Prince reaches King Minisir upon his entry back to Highmen capitol. The messenger couldn't have reached the prince this quickly, now could he? While riding forth King Minisir breaks the seal and reads the message. In short, it reveals the exact location of the murderous illusionist, who has obviously gained great strength by channeling the forces of death in the North. Prince informs that troops are being reorganized to bring end to this war. And all this exactly after he had sent instructions to break forces! A terrifying doubt besets the King, and he stops his convoy to the main road, looking around. How could it be this silent? A heartbeat later the gate he just entered the city bangs closed and Highmen soldiers appear to the walls. As if just to clarify their intent, another armed garrison marches forth the main road with Paladin Lord Jonah and Queen Esmeralda riding in arms to lead it, side by side. A most vicious trap and deceitful betrayal! Without choosing to wait a moment longer to be encircled and captured, King Minisir draws his sword and roars: "To Arms!".

P.S. Glad to have you back in game, Thereunto! :D

Dwarfs, Day 39

And suddenly the hunt is back on. Is this a strange coincidence or is the illusionist toying with us?
Just as the search parties were meant to return to our lands a message reaches us where we should look for the murderer. Is the illusionist binding our troops in the north? Has he just been careless or is there a greater ploy to expect ?
Elves - Day 40 in Menuir

Distant shouts and thumbing of marching boots. Somewhere some swords still clash and wails of pain endure until put out by the Highmen swords. Smell of blood and human waste fills the air. Above the ground Highmen soldiers search for King Minisir among his massacred bodyguard brigade, dead or alive no doubt, while he hides in the sewers below. After taking an arrow to the shoulder, he had fled into a house on the street and exited to the sewer system below it through most... indecent way. There is nothing royal or glorious about his situation, and all in all it is hard to find any other words to describe his current situation except cowardice and humiliation. But he mustn't fall or be captured by these rebels or the dream of all under heaven will burn to ashes. Who knows what kind of peace deal they would force his hand to? King Minisir curses his utter stupidity, a woman can really scorn a man down from his senses. But Elven army is approaching from the South, and they will all get their due! And he will get his chance to reclaim his lost honour.

Dwarfs, Day 40

The highmen traitor hides himself in the mountains. Our hunting party of elves and highmen may be fabulous scouts and warriors. But from traversing the treacherous paths of the mountains they have no clue. They can see campfire smoke and other traces of the murderer up their on the stony cliffs and yet we have no stout dwarfs in the area to hunt him down.
Elves - Day 41 in Menuir

While the search continued above the ground from house to house, the Highmen rebels never seem to even consider that a King of three realms would hide himself in the sewers below. But there he remained, as still and silent as he could, with a festering wound among the rats and human waste. While wondering whether all the stink and humiliation is better fate to what would wait for him if he just surrendered, the Elven army appears at the gates of Highmen capital. Upon hearing of the return of the Highman King, neither Paladin Jonah nor Queen Esmeralda agree to open the gates and surrender their city again. After some hasty diplomatics ended with a Highmen fail to proof their claim to have King Minisir captured, battering rams start to bang against the gate. Sounds of war fill the sewers below, distant wails of arrow pierced men, running of the rallied Highmen rebels and commands of their sergeants. Now is the time for King Minisir to make his move. Disgusted to the bone, he starts to move through the watery waste looking for his way up... from someones toilet.

Dwarfs, Day 41

The goblin pests had recaptured one of their former strongholds, but nothing can hold dwarfs down for long. If we are one thing, except great drinkers, lovers and fighters, we are a stout people. I am proud on my fellow dwarfs who relentlessly pushed back against the waves of goblins.

The highman criminal is hopping from mountain to mountain in the dark of night, even surrounded his illusions grant him a minimum of movement.
