It looks like Gears for Breakfast decided to leave GOG version behind and focus on Steam instead. It's been almost month since GOG release and we still can't make screenshots. There aren't even achievements D:
Did anyone get any attention from them?

blame gog, not the devs. gog charges devs money to push updates, while on steam it's free

What a stupid system

Excuse me, they do what now?! That does not only sound stupid, that sounds insane! Not having a game update on GOG or not having it update in a timely fashion is one of the major issues that customers complain about. (This can lead to real issues: For two weeks I was unable to play Terraria with my friends because the GOG version was updated so much slower than the Steam version.)

But maybe I'm overreacting:
Do you happen to know how much GOG charge?
Do you happen to know what kind of service they offer in return?
What the heck? if that's true then that's crazy, are you telling me that the GOG version of A hat in time did not yet receive the last two updates of bugfixes and changes?

it's stuff like this that forces me to start rethinking if I'm on the right platform, what the heck?

I texted yesterday with a Dev from a hat in time, from what he told me the GOG version will receive the major updates, while the steam version currently only received small "experimental" updates (his own words) for better or for worse, I say for better because I'm reading that the game is actually more buggy or not working anymore with the new patches... it is rather unfortunate that some people will have to wait a month or more after release to actually be able to have a more polished experience... but for some reason this is very common nowadays, a game releases and POP a patch with a barrage of bugfixes a week later... it's almost like every new game released is a beta game in disguise, and WE'RE all beta testers, that being said it seems the game isn't at all as buggy (day one) as many other (day one) titles e.g. yooka laylee I'm looking at you...
God help us. Hope we'll have all the joy of Steam version soon enough
Alternatively we could apply some common sense. No GOG doesn't charge developers to push updated builds and patches.
Here is a link anout updates on their FAQ page on the website:

It seems that GOG will get the updates when modding support comes out of beta. That could be awhile...

"We don't push minor or experimental updates to GoG, as GoG is DRM free, and builds can not easily be reverted or hotfixed."

Strange. I've never tried it myself, but I've noticed they seem to offer different versions of the game under "Backups & Goodies". Presumably you could revert to an older version of the game using that. Also, Galaxy can also be set to update the game automatically.

Well, whatever.

I don't know where you got this information from but as far as i know that's not true at all.

This is what I find super irritating as well... for Galaxy users, this is not an issue (the reasoning they gave on your link) for Galaxy users that does support beta channels and pushing updates like they do with Steam... it seems to me like most developers and publishers only see GOG as the place "you download games through your browser and install them that way" like they don't even know Galaxy exists

I am not aware that GoG Galaxy offers to opt-in or opt-out for Beta-updates.
Steam does so, that's why the devs can keep one safe version for everyone and a Beta-version for those who like the thrill.
If GoG ever supports a separated Beta-branch for devs, they may decide to also push beta updates here.

See attached screenshot... beta channels have been in Galaxy for a while and I've even used a few myself for certain games

Ok, so maybe tell it to the devs, they may not know :)
