I got this game for free and decided to give it a shot. At first it looked promising with fun gameplay, but then as I progressed through the floors I realized the main way this game had difficulty is to just increase the health, damage, and spawnrate of the enemies which is a lazy and frustrating way to increase difficulty. However the ideas have potential and if they're incorperated into another game without the bullet sponges I think it could do pretty well.
Even on easy this is just stupid. Stupid batshit crazy hard.
It does take some of the fun out this otherwise ok roguelike FPS shooter.
I recommend another similar game in style to this, "Immortal Redneck", instead.
This will just have you going bald years before your time! :D
Okay, count this 2/5 as a 2.5, the game isn't that bad, it's just... painfully average.
Lots of clipping on level geometry, the enemies aren't really varied, the rooms feel same-y (even on different floors).
There's no armory to see the weapon (and their stats) that you unlocked, the game somehow tries to melt down your pc and of course it's on unity, so don't expect anyone but the devs to fix anything...
The controls aren't that great either, you can't straferun (it just slows you down without strafing) and you could really do with a lateral dash/roll especially with the homing and spread projectiles of your enemies (that some could call bullshit) and enemies don't interact at all, no infighting to help you.
The base rod ranges from weak to nearly useless as you advance witch is an issue as you'll probably run out of mana often (especially if the game gives you two weapons of the same slot) and will have to rely on it
Overall, neat ideas, poor execution, a feeling that it doesn't really bring anything to the table that the doom engine couldn't do and a feeling that it'd be infinitely better as a doom mod than as it is.
Pretty much there is a consesus about this game already. Is a great and fun experience but with some problems. Worth the time, I'll keep playing for sure.
A fast-paced rouguelike fps within a fantasy setting. Really fun to zip around the rooms dodging enemies and magic spells. Different weapons, characters, and floors to change things up for every playthorugh.
