XIII is a remake of the cult first-person action game that was initially released in 2003. You play as “XIII”, a man without an identity, in a solo campaign with numerous twists and turns. Inspired by the eponymous graphic novel, the game features a completely reinvented and unique cel-shading design. In XIII, players can also take part in fierce multi-player fights.
The country remains in a state of shock following the assassination of President Sheridan. You wake up, wounded and with amnesia, on a deserted beach on the east coast. The only clues as to your identity are a tattoo of the number XIII near your collarbone and a locker key. Even though your memory is failing, you discover that you have the reflexes of a highly trained professional fighter. You set off in search of your past, discovering that you played a role in the murder of the President of the United States of America, and revealing the most astounding conspiracy ever hatched in the country's history.

This is an action adventure game, with some elements of stealth, made 20 years ago. Level design has aged, not in a bad way, but modern games offer more variety or approach, most notably around stealth, which sometimes is a pain. Scripted NPCs do not stand against modern AI NPCs, but the game was and is about its story first and foremost. The remake adds more fluid movements, a better FPS experience, improved graphics and compatibility with recent hardware. I had no bugs whatsoever.
It is worth to experience early 2000 game design. It is an honest true remake, with the same qualities and shortcomings of the first one from.
Tons of Game Brekaing Bugs, where you have to restart the whole Level. On SSH1 Base i ran into a game breaking bug that even reloading the level does#nt fix. Can't finish the game... Worst bugs in a game i've seen so far!
I think the original was unique and the cell shading actually allows the original graphics to stand the test of time better than other games of the era do visually. That being said, the remake's enhancements don't really add much. My other issue would be with some bugs I encountered on a few occasions.Nothing was game breaking though. All in all, a solid choice if you're a fan of the original and/or it is on sale for a decent price.
Can't help but having a bit of fun with this one, played the original a bit and I believe this has had some rocky beginnings, but coming new into now and after almost 3hours this has been pretty enjoyable so far....
