Solid, but lacking
For a squad based game its solid, but make sure to get the expansion which has the random seed generator fix and better character development. Overall Xenonauts, Shadow Run (all three), Fallout Tactics, and the original Xcom have better combat mechanics against a wider range of enemy archetypes. Overall happy that I got it on sale, but I would not have paid full price.

One of the Best Game I've Ever Played
In a summer evening of 1995, I was introduced to the OG Microprose masterpiece on a friend's computer. I spent days day-dreaming about the intertwining of strategic and tactical gameplay, despite it's numerous technical limitations. The game was amazing, the high praises it receives are worth it! This game gave you entry into a world insipred by the Visitors (V) and the X-Files. The remake imporves the graphics, accessibility and gameplay. My opinion on this game? One of the best games I've ever played, although not perfect. Buy it, play it and enjoy it :)

Now a "Classic" re-make of a "Classic"
It's truly a rare game, that is just as enjoyable as the original. XCOM is effectively captures the magic of the original, without trying to redo it. The original is still the best, but this game is really a close second. It is certainly more approachable, and the interface is far better. The story aspect is a welcome addition, to flesh out the lore/world-buidling of the XCOM franchise. There are a host of excellent mods as well, such as Long War and ERaT For Long War and Squadrons Unleashed that expand the game, and deepen the tactics. Buy it, and enjoy it for hundreds of hours!

Timeless masterpiece
The game runs beautifully and stable on Windows 11. My AMD Ryzen 5 4600H noteboon runs it flawlessly in Full HD at maximum details, my i5 desktop with an RTX 3060 runs it equally perfect at 4K and max details. No crashes, no sound issues, no glitches. Technically, the GOG release is marvelous. The game itself shouldn't need any further reviews. Personally, I like Enemy Within much more than XCOM 2 WOTC - Enemy Within has a wonderfully eerie and myterious atmosphere, the game is more to the point and at the same time less stressful than its sequel. And on a relatively modern PC, it is gorgeous to behold and does not look dated at all. Enemy Within is a must play masterpiece.
