As the commander of an elite paramilitary organization known as XCOM, you control Earth’s defences against a terrifying alien invasion. This package includes the award-winning XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM: Enemy Within expansion, plus all of the released add-on content.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Features

  • Strategic Base: Detect and intercept the alien threat as you build and expand your XCOM headquarters. Recruit, customize and develop unique operatives, manage your personnel, and negotiate with governments around the world.
  • Tactical Combat: Direct your squad in fierce turn-based ground battles, engage in cover operation, and rescue civilians in crowded cities and desolate outlands around the world.
  • Research Alien Technology: Recruit scientists and engineers to unlock more advanced weapons, armour and abilities.


XCOM: Enemy Within Features

  • Additional Soldier Abilities: Research a new alien technology to advance the capabilities of your operatives at a genetic level using Gene Mods or engineer MEC suits for heavy support in the field.
  • Additional Weapons and Equipment: Give your operatives an extra tactical edge with new projects from your engineering team and the Foundry.
  • Additional Enemy Threats: Adopt new tactics to counter the threats from two new aliens, the Seeker and Mechtoid, and a new human enemy known as EXALT.
  • New Strategic Resource: A valuable new alien resource, known as MELD, has been released onto the landscape providing access to new research and upgrades.

Now all we need is XCOM 2

It's only not getting five stars because it falters in comparison to XCOM 2., which hopefully will be here soon as well. This game is a wonderful turn-based strategy game, with perhaps not as much depth as one would expect (or as much as people familiar with the original XCOM games might want), but what it lacks on that front, it makes up for on addictive gameplay and fun personal stories, both for you and for your soldiers. It's a game worth dying in, over and over.

Nice work 2k / Firaxis games!

Great remake of the 1995 classic. They managed to capture the gameplay experience from the original game, and with some simplifications, and made it quite fun to play. The addition of multiplayer is a big plus as well. Thanks 2k and Firaxis for making this great version of one of my all-time favorite games.

Rich Evans would be proud

A very well made turn based strategy with base building elements and tons of replayability. Is it worth $50? Well it is 6 years old. As well as the game has aged, that' still pretty a pretty steep asking price, even if it comes with all the DLC. Not to say that the game isn't worth it, just that it'll probably depend on your own personal taste. However, at time of writing, the game is on sale for $10, and at that price I cannot reccomend this game enough, regardless of taste. It's XCOM on GOG. Just buy it already.... Also, there any chance we could get Vanquish and DOOM while we're at it?

Just about a perfect game

Absolutely great reboot of the X-com series that 'dumbed' it down to just about a perfect balance of keeping the best elements of the original, jettisoning the flotsam, and updating everything to modern capabilities.

Alien go splat!

I am a pretty hard core turnbased tactical player, I grew up playing JA2 1.13 and also played the original xcoms. So at first I found this game a little simplistic. But I agree with a lot of other reviewers that the game really sucks you in. Good story! (spoiler) When the aliens suddenly hit back in your base is really one of those moments. The tactical combat is really quite hard and you do need to make tough calls to make it through. Great game and as soon as I finish it I will start on the ''Long war'' expansion/mod which I am already looking forward to. Would get 5/5 if it had multiplayer. Now I can't show my friends how much I would kick their ass at this. My ego will have to make do with killing the AI. So 4/5.
