50$ is too much. Way too much.
Even the Dragons Dogma remaster was only 30. With some really fast -50% sales too.
And Capcom actually put some work into that.
Wait for a sale. A big sale. I've seen this thing go for 5$ on steam.
If you wanna dump 50$ into this, just buy the sequel instead.
As for the game itself it's pretty good. Really good.
But its 4 years old, and that's basically full price.
This is how old games can be brought back to live with enough new mechanics and content to make it a modern, interesting game. All while keeping the spirit of the old X-Com games alive and nurish from it.
The Long War Mod is also one of the greatest Mods I have ever played. In my opinion it provides more depth and content than even the official DLC did, and all that for free!
Iron Man Mode (or in my case Honest Man Mode since my PC crashes sometimes) provides a great experiance where every turn is important and every mistake can be massiv. I recommend watching Beaglerushs Youtube series "XCOM: War Within - Ironman Impossible" to learn more about smart aproaches and tactics for masochistic tacticnerds like me =)
Without his help I wouldn't have been able to have fun while playing iron man on a high difficulty but thanks to his almost flawless aproach it helped me a lot to deepen my knowledge about this game and the A.I.
Enjoy playing this gem of a game that together with the Long War mod exeedes the predecessor by a lot in my opinion!
Realy .. Realy... Realy great Game!!!
When I started the game for the first time I could not stop playing
The missions are very well done and the background story has captivated me very much, quite exciting
Must have Friends
About 240 hours played on steam, now bought on GOG :)
For me is XCOM the best videogame i have ever played. This ist because my playing hours are collected over more than five years (no other game caught me like this). After a hole campaign I allways wanted to came back, killing aliens again and save the world one more time. Just can't let the aliens having their peace.
It needs to come out XCOM2 to keep me from playing XCOM!
one of my all time favorite games, seems a bit dull when compared to Xcom 2 WOC (which i hope will come to gog at some point as well ) but nonetheless an amazing game, you really create amazing stories while playing.
