UFO Enemy Unknown is finally dead.
I've waited a very long time for a game that will replace UFO Enemy Unknown for me, and this one delivered. There is literally nothing I miss from my beloved classic when I play this game. Base building, fundings, research, soldiers management, tactical multi-leveled combat, even interceptions - they're all here, with modern graphics, nice animations, good music, great soldier development and very good combat system. It's shorter, true, but it is also streamlined, it has very good pace, it tells its story without halts and it doesn't overstay its welcome. It's a 9/10 in my book. Why not 10, you might ask? Because there is really nothing new nor revolutionary in it. It's my good old classic all over again, perfectly executed, but it lacks this spwcial something that separates very good games from masterpieces.

Modernization as it should be
The Very best of the Series, brought into modern times in just the right way. Be sure to play it with the Long War mod however, as it will add the few things that the original lacks

Simple and mediocre
This reimagination of the Xcom games is exceptionally mediocre, everything has been dumbed down/simplified to the point of where you are basically told where to go and what to do, sadly in my opinion this game has no replayability. If you are a fan of the old Xcom games then you won´t find much familiarity here other than the name, if you are just looking for an easy point and click strategy game then you might like it. Strategy is simple, walk your team 1 move each turn behind a cover and then just spam the enter button(To aim and then shoot) until the round is over. I find it quite amazing that a game from the 94 has so much more options and depth than a game made in 2012, Firaxis can do much better than this, far from their greatest achievement, they should stick to making civ strategy games.

Great Game!
Great game. I have this game on Steam, as well as PlayStation and I will buy here on GOG to add to my own library when I see a Linux version in the line up and DRM free.
