A Masterpiece
I bought this game on steam and i bought the original 24 years before with printed manual in a box. As The Settlers, Dungeon Keeper, Pirates and other gems of game history it has a unique gameplay and some inferior clones. It is a must have for strategy players !

Top quality Alien killing
Great game. Be warned, Multiplayer doesn't seem to work but I think hardly anyone plays with that anyway. The Long War mod is highly recommended.

A good game
I played the old Xcom series for many years. This new version is a completely new game, but as good as the old ones. There are a few flaws (difficulty levels either too easy or too hard, a fixed story that radically reduces re-playability, in my opion also the aircraft battles, that are not so importart as in the old games and don't really add much to the rest of the game). But it remains a solid and enjoyable game, with a good atmosphere, good (even if - or maybe because simple) strategy sistem, and good graphics. I'm looking forward to get the Long War mod to keep playing it, with some new elements.

UFO Enemy Unknown is finally dead.
I've waited a very long time for a game that will replace UFO Enemy Unknown for me, and this one delivered. There is literally nothing I miss from my beloved classic when I play this game. Base building, fundings, research, soldiers management, tactical multi-leveled combat, even interceptions - they're all here, with modern graphics, nice animations, good music, great soldier development and very good combat system. It's shorter, true, but it is also streamlined, it has very good pace, it tells its story without halts and it doesn't overstay its welcome. It's a 9/10 in my book. Why not 10, you might ask? Because there is really nothing new nor revolutionary in it. It's my good old classic all over again, perfectly executed, but it lacks this spwcial something that separates very good games from masterpieces.
