No More Cut Scenes Please

You know what would have made this game infinitely better? More shooting and less cut scenes! The shooting is good when it happens, however it’s interleaved with cutscenes for a story nobody cares about and objectionable characters nobody likes. Ever since Half-Life, every FPS needs to have a story, which has been to the genres detriment.

Hmm.. yes and no

On the one hand I give my votes mostly to more left and green parties. And as a german guy I give a dam **** about nazis. **** them seriously. And I love the game, shooting down those fantasy- american-style- hollywood- nazi- puppets in the game. And yes, thats it, entertainement in the end, having fun in a morbid psycho- "horror"- scenario. But on the other hand, Jezebel1988 wrote partially a really good comment/ recension. Even for me theres a little bit to much overbooked scenario. Everything is clearly separated between bad and good. Superbright and superdark. So, yeah its sort of a comic-art-style whatsover. But then maybe this story just works for teenies who start getting some sort of education in political/ social history. And then my humble advice :D, ignore and read some books about such a topic ... If its possible for you to ignore the ethic blabla and keep yourself your inner distance than this game will work for you and its a fine funky shooter. Kill Comic- Nazis ftw. I love inglorious bastards and Brad Pit ^^.. But as said, on the other hands I can understand the other guys recension. Story is much to stereotype :(P. Peace and love :* have a nice day

Nope

Immaculate gunplay paired with writing that makes your average they/them Twitter user foam at the mouth. Defines the term 'blueballed'.

Best Wolfenstein game for me

The game has great shooting mechanics, I like the level design (at least like 90% of the time). Graphics are great and fit the gameplay. I can't put my finger on it but it feels slightly more satisfying than New Order. There's more variety in levels even though you have some repetitions. The levels are still fun in the commander missions. I had some grinding for enigma codes but they didn't overdo it. What else? One could complain about too many collectibles but then you don't have to go for them. I've heard some critique that the game wants to be funny and serious at the same time: Well it does and I think it still manages to create the atmosphere of this oppressive alternate reality at one point while being over the top and funny elsewere. Most of the time this combination works for me while I didn't mind the times, when I didn't like the humour. I think they do a great job, mixing these elements together. About Grace. I don't like her character most of the time. Do you have some SJW bullshit? I guess you could argue that way. Also I found her role and how the others accepted her probably the less believable. Still I could enjoy the rest and was even positively surprised towards the end of the game. Game ended a bit abrupt but satisfying enough. One last word of advice: I was most frustrated when trying to get perks at all costs. E.g. when trying to get granade kills, most of the time enemies managed to escaped the explosion. Since I accepted this, it was a lot more fun for me. My conclusion: Less serious but overall better game than New Order. Great shooting, level design and some great wtf-moments. Don't play if you are highly allergic to SJW stuff, hate optional collectables or can't stand a mixture of brutality and silly, sometimes over the top humour. Didn't buy the DLC since it was too expensive to my tasting for giving you just more of the same or even less (that's what I've read).

Extremely depressing

The opening scenes you have to sit through were atrocious. I was so sickened that I never even made it to the start of actual play. The mood and theme shouldn't be marked for "mature audiences", it should be ear-marked for sickos and psychopaths. NOT the fault of GOG, make no mistake about that! They offer it for sale but they did NOT produce this thing.
