Combining the best of many classic retro shooters from heretic and hexen to wolfenstein, you'll be challenged thinking outside of the blocks (pun intended) in this solid entry.
Man, this game is crazy good! Apogee is killing it between this and TO. Levels are massive in this game, fully fleshed out and a blast to explore. The aesthetic is both endearing and complex. Gameplay is really solid. I think this game exceeds expectations and really does an excellent job of iterating on itself and other games in this style. It deceptively looks like (and begins like) a game from the early 90's, but this quickly changes when it introduces a large amount of verticality in each level. I'd say play it, it's probably a super super solid 8/10 (maybe more if you like these kinds of game) but I found it much more endearing and enjoyable than a lot of 8/10's. TurboOverkill is a 10/10 btw, and you should absolutely play that one as well.
Plays really great, I do wish there was a better way to find the secrets on your own, but the game is an awesome nostalgic throwback to the games from the 90s.
Got the game recently after been thiking wheter or not for weeks and I couldn't be more satisfied of the purchase
The main campaign is good and I'm still going through it, but the cherry on top is the level editor
So satisfying to use, easy and fast to learn, and the community behind is so great and can't really say enough good about it!
it's a 9/10 for the game itself, 10/10 if you are in map making and modding
