While echoes of the original release pacing problems remain, the Director's Cut does much to add variety to the experience with new features such as perks, quirks, and precision aiming. It's likely not enough to warrant a replay if you've already finished it, but if this is your first foray into inXile's bleak vision of the future, this is the best place to start off.

Despite some gameplay flaws, Wasteland 2 gets a lot of things right for the genre. Fans of isometric, hardcore RPGs will find a detailed world to explore in the title. inXile Entertainment provides deep attention to detail on an awe-inspiring level. Creation of independent currencies and social hierarchies in the game create a living environment. Fully fleshed-out NPCs with voice-overs add to the detail of the wastes and make characters more than just placeholders. Interacting with the environment may lead to new clues and options for gameplay. Wasteland 2 is full of player choice and replayability that will keep players busy for a while. With gameplay easily exceeding 80 hours of content, Wasteland 2 is not for the faint of heart. Those who appreciate challenging experiences and detailed world-building will find Wasteland 2: Director's Cut an important installment in their RPG library.

Bugs and glitches ruin it completely.

This is for the Linux version This should have been a favorite for me. The theme and the play style very appeal to me. The moment I saw this game advertised I started to salivate. I have never been so disappointed. I have tried this game on six different systems. It locks up, it crashes, it fails to load properly at various times. I have yet to have a single session not ruined by a game(or system) breaking event of some kind. I have spent over a hundred hours trying to fix it. I have read every forum thread, watched every YouTube video, reloaded it, tried different distributions of Linux, and straight up emailed people for help. I'm done. I will not buy another inXile title until they fix this one. I hate writing this review but I have to put it out there how bad this has been.

It's NOT for Win10

I have Steam version but I am not think it is matter... Under Win7 game run good, under Win10 crushes very frequently, sometimes in two minutes after loading. In Titan's Canyon I had to change graphic options to the lowest and play in window mode to get more than 3-5 FPS. And after more than ten tries I still can't go through last battle in Damonta due to crashes happen during combat.

Bought a Deluxe edition for 10€.

I like this game, it's like Falout with gameplay from XCOM. The only think I really hate is the difficulty. Ged Gud, yeah yeah. But I hated to restart 5 hours only to get it right this time. Loved every second of it exept not. ;)

Not fun at all.

I like post-apocalypse and I love torment Tides of Numenera, so I was curious about this one here. And indeed, when you start building your party, the game is very promising, there are interesting perks, that seem to give several varying playthroughs. I got high hopes out of character creation and was just one word: dissappointed, when I played the first missions with that radar towers. The conversations and the story around felt so boring to me, that I got bothered with reading very soon (something, that is speaking tongues considering the fact, that TORMENT is one of my favorite games in the recent past). The battles felt 10 times to long, it's a wannabe Xcom, but it's never as intuitive as XCOM2... by far. So I decided to uninstall the game, as one of the top reviews says: there are so many better games to play.

longg waitt...

I've put thousands of hours into the wastleand/fallout universe. I still love the first wasteland best of all. Fallout is next then 2 this game is last of pc games and only narrowly beats the awful console shooters. The "directors cut" is a rebalancing and addon update..bugfix.... The fun factor and playability are ok but replay and depth are very low. The sad fact is that now I gotta fire up dosbox to get my fix. ps.. I wonder if Bethesda remembered to take the dragons out of fallout 4...
