Wartales surprised me. It is a rare game that lets you play without getting in the way. Within minutes you will be out in the world, building your party and writing your story. That is something to be cherished in a world full of games that hold your hand to a painful degree or RPGs that take ten to twenty hours just to get to the meat of things. Wartales knows how to let players explore and have fun and doesn’t actively try to stop you from doing so, which is, unfortunately, all too rare these days. If you want a game that respects your time, look no further than Wartales.

Wartales is the perfect game for those who love turn-based action and min-maxing their characters. The progression system is well-thought to keep you engaged while you explore each map. Combat and crafting are two other complementary systems that add extra layers of strategy.

Promiesed delivered
This is a good game. It's almost like the XCOM in medieval setting - different approach but the core idea is the same. Graphics are fine enough, music is really nice, maybe the plot isn't very strong but there are side quests to help you immerse in the world. Gameplay is solid, there are a lot of upgrades (camp, characters), combat is pretty standard but I don't need unnecessary innovations (if it ain't broken, don't fix it), I think it is satysfying. Moving freely on the map is really nice addition for me. I'd say it's worth checking if one likes turn-based combat. And if not, still worth checking ;)

just one more thing.. and now it's 01:51 am... i'm only going to bed because I have to get up in the morning, if not.. I would keep doing one more thing. Haven't had such a great time playing a game in years.

Great game
Aside from technical issues (it can slow down quite a bit even on powerfull PCs + bunch of small bugs) but aside from lack of polish I'm having plenty of fun with it.
