A delight.

While I wasn't able to get into pathfinder, rogue trader is immersive and interesting. The writing is great, the artwork, especially the characters cards, is vibrant, and the turn based combat very smooth. Thank you owlcat games!

Would have been 5 out of 5 except...

This game is great. I would have given it a 5 out of 5 except for chapter 3. I HATE plot/story induced stupidity and/or impotence. If I face difficulties I want it to be reasonable storywise or it is because of a choice I made. I just wanted to get it over as quick as possible but stopped because it was actually giving me a headache every few minutes (or distance?) a certain story induced condition plays a very short cinematic scene over and over and over. If someone starts a crowd funded mod that allows chapter 3 to be skipped completely but allows the choices to be made I would seriously consider chipping in. Before chapter 3 I was sure I was going to replay it many times. After chapter 3 I am sure I will play it far less. The game is worth it but though one of the dlc is questionable. But lord almighty chapter 3 su.... less than adequate. At least as of right now any tecnhical problems are minimal. I didn't face any.

Awesome game, complicated level up

I found the game very enjoyable. I like turn based combat games. I like sci-fi. I like a good story and compelling characters. This game has all of the above. Story-wise, acts 1 and 2 start off very strong. Act 3 feels a bit out of place, kinda seems like filler, but still interesting enough. Towards the end of Act 4 and 5, I am lost and can no longer understand the motive of the Rogue Trader, or the convoluted plotlines. In terms of game play mechanics, I enjoyed travelling around in a spaceship and exploring. I love the idea of warp jumps being dangerous and you can be hit with unexpected, demonic surprises. The turn-based combat is fun. Naval combat is awesome - I really like commanding the ship, taking shields and firing range into consideration, and performing manouevres to maximize the amount of shots I can fire off each turn. Very satisfying to take on a large fleet and come out the winner with little to no hull damage. My biggest complaint about the game is that levelling up is too complicated. There's too much to read, too many numbers to consider, too many options. It's hard to keep track of what talents, abilities or skills I've given to my characters. I have no idea how effective my builds are, or how to optimize. Luckily, I didn't find combat to be too much of a challenge. Despite fumbing my way through the level ups, I managed to build a decent team, and I was able to take on the boss fights without too much pain. That first boss fight at the end of Act 1 - the difficulty suddenly spiked, and I have no idea how I managed to beat that on my second try, but I did. I've played many warhammer 40K games before, but this is the first one that really dives deep into the lore. In my mind, this franchise has now graduated from status of "weird universe but fun games" to "the lore is awesome".

CRPG Goodness

Being a lover of CRPG's, this game had everything I was looking for: Crunchy/tactical combat, DEEP lore, customizable parties, and choices that impact the story. I'm 40-ish hours into the game, and it still feels like I'm only just getting started with the game. I worried going into this game that it would be very buggy, but I'm happy to say I haven't had a single bug during my entire play time. I would recommend this game to any fans of CRPG's. The only critique I would have to give is the crazy amounts of reading you have to do. Maybe it would help if I was familiar with any Warhammer lore at all, but I find myself reading for 20-30 minutes at times through dialogue, definitions, abilities, level-up screens, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love a complex/tactical combat system, but it felt like I was studying for a test whenever my party leveled up (the boss battles being the aforementioned test I studied for)

Good game, critical bugs

As wh40k crpg this game is fantastic, but the state of the game is horrible. Mass bugs, and now a critical one that I can not progress the story. Better wait until the game will be patched up
