Discover the grim dark universes of Warhammer where there is only war. From Warhammer 40,000 to Warhammer Fantasy and more - discover it all on GOG Warhammer Franchise page.

Be sure to check Season Pass and Season Pass 2!

Explore the Koronus Expanse.
Begin your adventure aboard your personal, giant voidship, traveling between the multitude of systems within the Koronus Expanse, a barely charted and incredibly perilous region of space. Despite being considered a backwater of the Imperium, this region encompasses an enormous stretch of the void, filled with dangerous creatures and prodigious opportunities for profit and exploration.

Your decisions matter, Lord-Captain.
During quests show your subjects mercy or disdain, stay faithful to the God-Emperor, or consort with enemies of Mankind - your every decision and every act, even in character creation, is changing the in-game open world and those who inhabit it.

Gather your crew.
Rogue Traders never travel alone. Gather your retinue of righteous heroes, twisted psykers, and perfidious xenos. All of them are ready to follow you into the darkness between the stars. They will offer you counsel, aid you in battle, and allow you to amass ever more power. In return, you can guide them through their own personal journeys, changing their destinies forever.

Plan your actions carefully.
Slaughter the enemies of Mankind in a fully-fledged isometric turn-based tactical combat. Take advantage of cover, the environment, and careful positioning to overpower your enemies. When that is not enough - use your companion`s powerful abilities to turn the tide of battle and achieve victory even in the direst of situations. Our video game adaption of the classic Rogue Trader ruleset allows an enormous number of possibilities for you to explore.

Not worth playing

Extremely bugged and janky, not polished before release. People have to rely on mods to debug their game to be able to finish it. Owlcat Games also thinks it's perfectly fine to not ship physical purchases made, such as an artbook, without refunds. I genuinely hope these thieves go out of business and never work in gaming again.

Very buggy release and no patch notes

They released this bugged to hell and to add insult to injury they refuse to put the patch notes on GoG because apparently we're second class players to Owlcat... Probably don't even read the bug reports GoG players send it...

60 hours long and yet I felt rushed.

Bugs are a transient problem. After weeks of patches the game resolved most of the big ones and it was mostly smooth sailing when Act 4 finally launched correctly and I was able to continue with the story. But the problem mostly lies therein: The game takes a nosedive after you leave act 3 and even within. The main threat that was the cult of the final dawn gets hastily wrapped-up. Companions just get weirdly siloed from each other (spoilers ahead) Argenta admits killing [someone] during act 3 and Abelard, aside from a line during the confession itself, never comments on it ever again. Heinrix is basically nonplused by your open conflict with Calcazar. Ulfar supposedly has an axe to grind with him also but even in the final confrontation is not reacting at all. Even within their companion quests you find yourself disapointed. Pasqal goes through a seismic change in who he is supposed to be but there is absolutely no reaction to it even from himself. Argenta's personnal quest concludes on a weirdly short and unsatisfying mission that gives her a deathwish that is never reflected on ever again until the ending slideshow. Act 5 is a rushjob through necrons that are played up as a massive threat but are pretty unimpressive in gameplay terms and suffer from being dropped with zero forshadowing on the player. You basically get the plot explained to you by a complete stranger with no voiced line 20 minutes before the ending itself. The ending slideshow had the feeling of watching guy spinning plates, all of them shaking more and more as the show went on and finally crashing into each other in puzzling incoherence Technical bugs can be fixed but I feel there was suppsed to be more to the story but time/money ran out for what is still a fairly ambitious project. It is also weird that the management part is the driest of all of owlcat's games in the one game where we're basically a space CEO.

Pretty Good but Rough Around the Edges

This is a pretty good CRPG. If you are a 40K fan I think it is worth a look. There isn't a lot of new ideas here but it does a good job overall. I don't think I would recommend this to someone looking for an RPG that isn''t specifically 40K. There simply isn't enough polish. The combat is quite good. It moves along quickly and for the most part is consistent. I did find the line of sight mechanic fairly janky. I was beside an open railing with a clear height advantage but there was no LoS. The things I found that detract from the overall enjoyability: A lack of information. Lots of systems within the game are not properly explained, or explained at all. There is wording that is very vague. When I can't understand exactly what a skill does and need to google for help it can be annoying. The devs seemed to go for quantity over quality with the character skills etc. There is also a ton of overlap. To the point where my character did not seem unique at all. I was focused on intelligence and by the time I started the 1st chapter my character was relegated to being a sniper. I haven't completed the game yet, so I can't say for sure what I think about the story. In addition to the lacklustre character development I would give this a 3.5 overall.
