Needs more polish but VERY good
No, this doesn't compare to BG3 but it's a bit unfair to compare the two in the first place. However, this is easily one of the best Warhammer games ever released and I'm glad to have it. I enjoy both Pathfinder games and this is another step forward for the developers. They just need to iron a few things out and polish the game a bit more and it'll be a classic.

Good Lore bad game
Sad to see one good lore in an W40K game, but this developer shows incompetence in game development (software side) and in quality management. For the price they ask for it is near a offense, game is so buggy that is nearly unplayable. It shows lot of Unity scripting errors and gpu management. I had this on STEAM and refunded. Makes me sad, but this game is not worth the money now, maybe the will fix it...... I don't think so..... And the fanboys will still buy it.

The real descendant of Baldur's Gate 2
Let me start that I've been prejudiced against Owlcat Games because of the wasted potential of Pathfinder Kingmaker (timed quests, poor balancing, bugs, needless woke-ism etc.). But by this game shows they've learned. I'm a fan of old Infinity Engine classic cRPGs (Baldur, Icewind, Neverwinter) and I've wanted, for a long time, something that could come close to the magic of old Baldur's Gate (and no - BG3 is a completely different animal). This is it, gents. We have a good plot, cool characters, nicely done combat, very good music. And the Warhammer 40k (also a fan) atmosphere is done well. Although a bit too combat-heavy, it is more story-oriented than Kingmaker. The Void Shadows DLC is top-notch writing, imho. The only thing that made me deduct a star was a quest-breaking bug that prevented me from finishing it. All in all, I'm glad I have it a chance. It is quite long (over 200h for me). Owlcat is the (classic) new BioWare.

It has issues besides the bugs
Everyone mentions the bugs but I'm now at chapter 3 and I only had one where a quest failed from a companion, but it's supposed to get wore in chapter 4 and 5. The far greater issue for me are the trash fights, with little to no dialogue in between - is this supposed to be an RPG or a Tactical Combat Game? And there are easily more fights in this than Jagged Alliance fo example. That aside the difficulty is all over the place. For example most fights in Chapter 3 were easy but the final boss fight was near impossible. Without toybox to skip the trash fights, wish are sometimes just a random assortment of enemies, as if the designers themselves didn't care for them, I would have long given up. I bet most people who bought the game won't even make it to chapter 4 but will still defend this design philosophy...

Fun but broken
A great game until it breaks down due to progression-blocking bugs at every corner. This should not have been released in this state. Avoid.
