A good experience, but not a good game

This would have been a truly a fantastic experience, if this game was not held back by its... gameplay elements. The game has stellar voice acting, a fabulous art direction and really great writing (but more on that later). But, the movement is clunky, the fighting is boring and bugged (the hitboxes), the level-up system is just alright and the equipements are uninteresting, as most weapons can do the same as the others, with no real uniqueness. Alos, some story elements make no sense (especially the love interest). Finally, I'd recommend to "play" the game on the narrative mode, to skip all the unfun part.

A solid RPG with a great story and chars

+Nice graphics +Solid story +Nice world and vampire lore +Interesting characters +Choices and consequences -somewhat clunky camera and controls during the combat I really recommend this game. It gives many hours of good story and characters.

Great story, some flawed mechanics

The story and atmospherics are excellent but there are a lot of flaws. Some of the quests hinge on others being done first with no indication. You get encouraged to learn about NPCs to give max XP for embracing them then they can disappear wasting the effort The attack skill controls feel very mushy in combat with slow response times You get spawned into the middle of multiple packs of enemies occasionally after a death The camera in combat gets too close sometimes so you can't see what's going on. TL;DR - Artistically excellent, mechanically flawed

Good Story Bad Game

The story is compelling and well told. The choices you have to make along certain plot beats make you really think of how you want to act but that is where the game leaves the good. Combat is one of the worse things in this game. If you have auto lock on you jump around from ememy to ememy everytime you turn. If you have it off it is extremely cumbersome to switch targets. Certain skills only work while targeting on someone while other skills with a similar mechanic don't require targeting. Towards the end of the game you can tell they ran of gameplay ideas. There is a sewer section that is beyond contrived. You come to a dumb little puzzel to cross an area with a locked door directly to your left. Once you solve the puzzel you cross the area making a loop ending up on the other side of said door. As or just before you unlock it all of a sudden 4 ememies pop of out no where. There is no point in this other "what should we do here", "IDK just throw shit at the wall and see what sticks" I really want to give this game more than 2 stars but when your game play is so bad and the mechanics make no sense I can't. I suggest getting this on sale for 10 bucks like I did and playing it as a narrative story.

Good with several bugs

Story 10/10 Combat 8/10 Mechanics 7/10 Performance 8/10 I recomend this game. It has several bugs like u wont never get achivements and some animation bugs like T-pose. But you will keep playing to see the story...
