Flawed but well told
Amazing presentation, superb score, great storytelling & writing but combat that leaves a lot to be desired. If you're expecting this to play more like your standard third person action game...you'd be wrong. Combat is much closer to something like Dark Souls and it's many clones. That means a lot of dodging and waiting for the right moment. Nothing wrong with that but it feels like total opposite of most vampire power fantasies. To make matters worse, if you want the best ending you have to handicape yourself further by not draining anyone which means way less experience points. You'll find a few things work well across the board but the game will still through scenarios and situations at you that are just going to be rough because you couldn't afford to spec your character a certain way or be a jack of all trades. All of that sounds really negative but the story told here, and how it's told is worth it just go in expecting some headaches with the combat. Hell, the score might be worth it alone too. It's grear.
