How does the PC version of Vampire's Fall: Origins compare to other platforms?
This game looks, plays and sounds like a mobile port because that's what it is, with very basic graphics, huge icons, uninteresting character progression (mostly +1% to this or that type deals), and a bunch of cosmetic items that are so exorbitantly priced I guess they cost actual money in the android version.
There's really not much to say about this game. There's no shortage of games that do what it does but better, most of which also look better, so you can safely ignore this one and miss absolutely nothing.
Let me be clear about this; Vampire's Fall: Origins is not a good game. It's not wholly unenjoyable, but this is not because of any actual virtue of the game itself, it's the compounding stupidity of everything about the writing, characters, and setting that make playing this game an excellent experience.
You start the game in the village of Vamp'Ire. After the Witch King or whatever blows up your village, you and one other guy survive and become the first vampires, which are named after the village of Vamp'Ire. There's a quest where a villager sends you off to dispel a curse on their village that makes milk go bad or something, but when you get there, the enchanted rock that's keeping the curse alive tells you that the curse is actually making everyone in the village stupid. This game is awesome. ONLY pick it up on sale.
This game, like Exiled Kingdoms, was a game I finished on my phone spending too many hours. The general design was well done indeed, but still it lacked depth, I guess. On Android you could play versus other players (you can see on the description that this might be added later) and I think that was the most enjoyable part of the game after all was said and done. Don't expect depth but give it a try to have some fun.
The PC version has its advantages and drawbacks to the Android OS version.
I loved the Android version, it was simple to play, addictive, funny and repetitive, but in an enjoyable way. It was also interesting when using the rebirth/new game+ option to play the game again and choose different dialogue options and actions compared to your previous playthrough. However, even after paying a "contribution" of £5 to support the game and to have in-game ads removed, which was a fair price as this is a really good game, there are sadly elements of in-app purchases that keep budget-conscious users away from accessing some cool features i.e. wings that can activate more than one Might buff at at time, helmets that increase your Revitalise/Recovery buff percentage and also finally an option to allow your character to shapeshift and acquire extra abilities. Also, while it is a great game, it is tiring to play on a touch screen after a while.
However, the PC, while it lacks certain features such as the PvP multiplayer option, the Bloodstone Mines and the Blood Moon feature, it makes up for it in the fact that the controls are a simple point and click affair, which is really how this game should be played, it's more comfortable to play with and is far more accurate.
The game does look better on a PC than on Android, it's much easier to avoid running into things constantly and ending up in constant battles. There are no in-game purchases/microstransactions. All of the dark shards and adverts are removed and therefore all of the in-game items can be purchased with in-game money, (bloodstone removals from items are free!) not real money, except for the purchase fee for the game of course.
Hopefully, the PC version is updated with more of the features the Android version currently has, as in my view the PC version is the better version due to having a better control scheme and also fairer due to the fact there are no microtransactions or adverts.
I bought it for few euros and I can say that for the price is very good. Don't expect a real RPG this a simple game and you can play it in "relax" mode. The world is simple as the powers and skills you will find but it's a great simple game to play with this small price.
