How does the PC version of Vampire's Fall: Origins compare to other platforms?
Quite simple and straightforward RPG with turnbased combat and random battles.
Quite liked, i.e. spent 12h and beat it, had some fun however probably will also soon forget about it.
It nothiing spectacular but worth its price, especially on 50% discount.
Main minuses for me - to much quest repetitiveness and too much running.
This is a simple RPG with funny dialog and decent gameplay, it should run pretty smoothly in most systems even though it's a mobile port, however, it lacks attention and updates compared to the mobile version, I would only recommend buying this on 60%+ sales, you can find better RPGs to pass the time otherwise.
Probably the worst part of it is the complete lack of online content... the absence of PVP, dungeons, events and daily brutals makes the long grinding hours in this game and the rebirth system completely redundant, pretty much the only advantage from the mobile port is the lack of annoying microtransactions, those were converted back into the game's actual economy in the PC version but don't really change much in the long run.
I don't think this port will be a massive indie hit if it gets the same features or frequent updates from the mobile version but it would definitely have a much more consistent and happier playerbase, if it ever gets the same features from mobile then it'll definitely be more than worth its price, I truly hope that happens but, for now, I wouldn't recommend it in its current bland version.
I quite enjoyed this game, it has a charming art style and very simple combat style that works well enough.
After finishing all the content, including the brutal mazes, my problem is I think the rebirth system makes you have to play the game too many times to have the best gear. Repeating the game about 6 times was a little bit too much, they could definatly have made it 3 times, otherwise I had a good time playing it!
I had played, and finished, this game last December on Android. The game is an excellent example of single-person (as opposed to controlling a team) turn-based RPG. I was playing it for over a month, as it's got two very large maps. It features random battles (as other turn-based RPGs) but, fortunately, they are not annoyingly often (as opposed to other turn-based RPGs!), except if you drink a special potion to make them appear more often. This is a MUCH more fair feature. I don't know about the GOG version (I assume this version is better than the free one), but, overall, it's a really excellent game.
