Should have called it something else
As a standalone, it's a competent game. I enjoyed the combat, the movement, the writing, the world design, but this is not Bloodlines. 7.5/10 game. This is not an RPG in anyways. Progression is very linear, side quests are more sides than quests. Game is still quite buggy. No idea why Paradox Launcher is required to launch this game.

Mehh...
I have been playing a bit and while I do not enjoy the hate the game has gotten since before it even came out, the game is quite bare for a supposed AAA game. The map is tiny, there isn't even a basic inventory system, the missions are fairly limited in scope although the story has me intrigued to at least finish the game and the developers have tried way too hard to make the characters memorable that it actually feels like the characters are really trying to stand out which ruins the effect for me. However I feel that games should be looked at as their own separate entity and not just as a sequel, therefore I feel the game has promise but it needs a few tweaks and could be expanded a bit. The map is a particular issue as they should have just made the game in chapters like Thief or Mafia where roaming could be done within the chapters. I say this because this would better encapsulate the scope of the game as there really is not a lot to do and definitely not a lot of replayability, no one wants to run around the city collecting things off the wall. I do like the combat, it is fast but there needs to be a better blocking mechanism or the ability to stagger enemies as your hits do not stop them so they will still take health from you as you attack and they do a lot of damage even on normal although bobbing and weaving definitely keeps my adrenaline levels up. I do not mind the skill system, it is a good action game skill tree but this game definitely should not have been marketed as an RPG as it is not an RPG although it does have some RPGish elements. In summation, as an action video game not an RPG, I would give this title a mediocre 5/10, as an RPG even less. While it was just enjoyable enough to play it gets boring after an hour or two as I am just running around for the most part. the two best element are definitely the story and the combat but there could be more variety as it is mostly grunts that can easily overwhelm which is counter-intuitive to this type of player character that is supposed to be a badass elder with abilities that make no sense in the world of darkness universe.

Very obvious that the release was rushed
I quite like the game. The setting is interesting, Phyre is fun to play, the combat feels good, and the story is decent so far. However, I don’t like the current state of the game. It’s very buggy, lacking graphic options, an FOV slider, and manual saves. Overall, the visuals are poor; everything looks like a grey smudge. I’m not sure if it’s poorly implemented RTX or something else, but the game is badly optimized. I would appreciate it if Fabien (your mind pal) didn’t comment on every single thing in the game. Please, silence him for Christ's sake! I’ve refunded the game for now because, in its current state, I don’t believe it’s worth €60. If they fix the issues that many players are experiencing, I’d be willing to support them, as I think there are good foundations in place. However, the final product should have been released much later and in better condition. And one story point to consider: I think the writers confused Anarchs with Sabbats, as I don’t remember Anarchs being mindless killers of other bloodlines; you could normally talk to them. Also, there is no distinction between Anarchs and Ghouls. Bad job!

Great game
I really loved this game - definately the best World of Darkness game in the last 5-10 years. Might be a disapppointing sequal to Bloodlines 1, but on its own merits it's a great time.
