unepic is super fun you have to buy it if you like metroidvania games ;) super large castle / epic bosses etc etc (sometimes the humor is really bad .. but thats not the slightest downer) buy / enjoy :)

I began to played this game 2 days ago. At first, I played it in English but, when I discover it was made by an Spanish developer. If you don't find the game funny probably is because of the translation, mostly. Este es el primer juego que voy a jugar en español en años! Y no tiene ninguna mala pinta. Felicidades al creador ;)

This would have been a solid 4 star game if it weren't for the "elf village" level. Maybe even 5 stars with a suitably epic ending. However, the "elf village" level ruined the game for me. Sudden spike in difficulty - check. Sudden annoying gameplay gimmick where you have to constantly switch between two characters to keep them from dying - check. Player character races past the moral event horizon - check. I lost all sympathy and respect for the player character, and the game, at that point.

This game is great! Graphics are cute and controls are responsive. Metroidvania style gameplay with rpg elements makes for a kickass combination. I suggest using joy2key to play, quick selection of the inventory items works well with the analog stick.

When I first started playing this game, I enjoyed it it seemed like a nice, simple, well designed game with an interesting story so why do I say this game sucks? It's the ending(s) you think you have a choice but actually you don't you have to play the game a certain way for example, say you wanted to be a ranged fighter well sorry this boss is melee only, okay well say I was a melee figher, nope sorry this boss is ranged attacks only and I don't get why it started out so good and then it started funnelling me down a certain play style my choices no longer mattered, if I didn't fight the boss a certain way, I wasn't beating that boss. Then there is the endings, there are 3 endings that I am aware of and they are all bad endings, okay maybe that was intended but you don't beat a hard game so you can be told you suck you beat a hard game for the challenge, it just bugs me because it started out so well and it just went all down hill when the last few bosses and loss of any choices began at the end game. It was a good game until the end game began.
