Very enjoyable adventure

Ive completed this game on steam (got it bundled with cpu+it wasnt even available on GOG back then) and in my opinon its a very good, entertaining game. Definitely worth it on sale for both the main game and DLC (which are bundled as Legacy of Thieves). Its slightly more action focused than recent Tomb Raider trilogy and exploration isnt as fun as in TR, but its still enough fun. Where Uncharted shines is presentation - imitating Indiana Jones type of movie really well. Also if you complete the game you can unlock some cool features like alternate rendering modes which are fun to mess a bit with. All in all, if I had to rate this using 0-100 scale Id give it at least 85/100 - but not more than 90.

Best in the series

I've beaten 1 2 & 3 at least twice each, but I've never played 4 because I never owned a PS4 or PS5. I read over the years that Uncharted 4 was weaker than 2 and 3, so when I found this was on PC and I bought it I was expecting it to be alright at best. I was so pleasently surprised. Uncharted 4 is, by far, the best Uncharted in the series and it's not even close in my opinion. The biggest strength this game has over the others is the writing. In the previous games, the bad guy always knows everything and is always either right behind you or ahead of you in the search for whatever it is you're looking for even if it makes no sense story-wise. They honestly feels like a worse version of Raiders of the Lost Ark where Nathan isn't even relevant to the story until the end. This game, however, writes its scenarios and characters in a much smater way so you're not scratching your head wondering why the bad guy knows what he knows or how he could have known it. The gameplay is also way better, the graphics are incredible (Although, why they decided to force TAA on everyone is beyond me. TAA is the worst AA ever), the characters are amazing, and the story is the best part. It wraps up Uncharted beautifully and even leaves it open for future games (which unfortunately doesn't look likely). The Lost Legacy is also fantastic. A great little story (~6-8 hours) after the events of Uncharted 4. 100% worth playing as well. The only downside to this game is Uncharted 1-3 are not available on PC and you miss out on sooooo much by not playing those first. This game doesn't hit as well if you don't have the context of the previous games unfortunately. Bring the Nathan Drake collection to PC!

Truly Polished AAA Experience

I own this collection and 100%-ed on Steam, but I felt like I have to applaud and gush about it here. Somehow these two games manage to be the absolute best "Action Adventure" genre has to offer. They are not open-world games (although some areas are really quite open to explore, but not too overwhelming), making it a strength rather than a shortcoming. Stories are focused, characters are interesting, believable, and they go to places, both figuratively and literally.

Good, not great

The visuals are nice, especially at 4K, the voice overs are done well and the cut scenes are smooth and less intrusive than other games. The action is fast and intense at times and with cut scenes tossed in it can get confusing. Fortunately the game restarts quickly after dying, which I did a lot. There is a decent mix of fighting, stealth, and climbing/jumping to keep the game interesting. Most missions allow the player to determine how much stealth verses combat they want. Unfortunately there is no alternative to all the climbing and jumping you need to do. If this is your thing go check out Dying Light – I felt it played more smoothly. Even on the lowest setting the camera still moved more quickly than I cared for. Same for aiming. This would be a 5 start game if not for some drawbacks. At the start the path is well marked and the help is very useful. The path becomes more obscured as the game progresses. This means you end up guessing which way and where to jump/climb more and more. A wrong guess usually results in death. I died a lot having to play “try this” which quickly got frustrating. The game tries to reduce this by providing clues. Some of the missions involve larger areas with lots of treasures to find if you do a good job searching. These areas can be difficult to navigate. You need to remember which paths you searched to avoid wasting time searching through them again. One of these paths, usually the one that prevents you from going back, is the way forward to the next mission. If you happen to hit that path before having completed all the treasure gathering and searching you will need to reload an earlier save and try again, or forgo the treasures. Some scenes the game flipped the camera from behind you to in front. This was disorienting and I found it difficult to move about. I died a bunch of times trying to get through it. There were a ton of cut scenes to keep the story moving – I would have preferred less cinema and more game.

FUN and beatiful game

The quality is high, having fun while exploring and having some action, most things on the game are balanced and you don't need to think too much. It is a long game too, and the characters are charming, even the antagonists. Most people watching me play had fun too. The voice acting is outstanding, and writing is simple but delivers at a reasonable pace. Replay value is there, specially with the bonus skins, weapons, filters and cheats you can unlock. The game saves often so you don't get frustrated when killed. If think you may like this game, just grab it, specially during sale, it is worth it. I sense I'm missing some lore stuff by not playing the first three games, but they're not available on PC so don't let this be a reason to no get this game. Specific minor technical cons: - Cinematics have no ultrawide support, even though the game does have it. - Five or six times my game paused while loading shaders or content. - Two times the cinematics didn't load, just got the first frame while audio was being played, just reload the cinematic. (I think this may be wayland related).
