Description
Aziraal, the god of fire, has fallen and the Dark Lord Gandohar is scheming as to how to disrupt the balance between the elements. Five long years have passed since the events of the first game and you, the hero, begin your adventure trapped in Gandohar’s prison. Now you must forge an alliance with your most hated enemy: the Orcs. You’ll have to put old enmities aside, reclaim your freedom. and save your sister in Two Worlds II.

In Two Worlds II: Pirates of the Flying Fortress, a band of fame-hungry pirates led by the legendary Captain Ed Teal, have become trapped in a cursed archipelago when their ship ran aground, where they will be damned to remain forever until aided by a hero with a strong back(that’s you) and a (somewhat) loyal disposition. Trust, after all, is no short sale in these cursed islands, especially not for a man tasked with finding the Treasure - an immaterial wealth said to manifest the beholder's wildest dreams.

The war has come home! While the bloody battle between Gandohar’s troops and the armies of the Orcs is raging in front of the gates of Oswaroth, the emperor waits in the depths of his palace on the outcome of the struggle for power. However, he does not know that an elite troop of Orcs, led by Rogdor, is making its way through secret paths into the fortress and is now close to the portals of the throne room. Two Worlds II: Castle Defense gives you the opportunity to slip into the role of the Emperor Gandohar and his henchman Sordahon! These villains from the "Two Worlds" universe are now playable for the first time ever in this strategy game, thus opening an entirely new perspective into the vast world of Antaloor. Using foresight and skill, you must defend abandoned ruins, dark forests, and winding catacombs against the onrushing Orcs. Ward off each attack with clever tactics and weaponry, defending Gandohar's throne in the Oswaroth fortress!

  • Two Worlds II Epic Edition includes the original Two Worlds II, the Pirates of the Flying Fortress expansion, and Two Worlds II: Castle Defense.
  • Master crafting to customize armor and weaponry, brew complex potions, and craft unique and powerful spells.
  • Forge alliances and help out those who are need. Be mindful of your decisions as they can bear consequences with a further reach than you may realize.

The first class greediness

1* is my protest against the scummy publisher. The game itself is good but after the infamous update The Two Worlds II just cannot be taken seriously. How greedy a company must be if it adds microtransactions to a 7 years old game saying that the Xbox 350 version had them from the get-go? Well, this is a PC version and it had not them from the get-go, so why do you do that in the first place? In addition, they locked access to the console so cheats are no longer available.

Magnificent game!

Although smaller (in hours spent and landmasses traversed, not in existing quests) than the first game, it is enhanced in various aspects. So: Very good presentation with many cutscenes. One of the best and simplest lockpicking mechanics I’ve ever seen. Very good horse riding mechanics and racing (against time), although the races are very few. Very well organized inventory. Very interesting main questline, especially when trying to learn about Gandohar’s past. Unpredictable plot twist in the end… Many MANY side quests. Most of them being remarkable, funny and having something new to tell. (Small tip: for the quest with the labyrinths, follow the barrels.) I found just two flaws in the main game. I didn’t like the hero’s voice. I consider it to be way too neutral and colourless, despite all that’s happening around him. I preferred the hero’s voice in the first game. Secondly, if only all the land in the biggest island was available too! I completed main game very thoroughly in 64 h. In the expansion I spent another 21 h until completion. There are many sub-quests and a long main questline (for an expansion) and all of them are interesting and enjoyable (e.g. quest as “santa claus”, or “undead dance club”!!!, or the mimics, to mention just a handful) and with a strong and emotional ending. One negative: the long trip into someone’s subconsciousness, although great and unique as an idea and pretty long (about 4 h), had that blurred effect (in order to show that this isn’t reality) that made it a bit tiring to the eye.

much better than I thought

The only thing I could remember about TW1 besides it being extremely bland was that the one good thing I liked about it was the armor and that there was plenty of it so I wasn't expecting much from this...boy was I surprised. Had to adjust a few things (like removing the blur effect) and it took a few days to get used to the movement but after that everything fell into place. The main story isn't epic by a long shot but it's on par with most average rpg's. What excels are the side quests...more than just fetch quests and often filled with humor (fighting possessed umbrellas for example)...they quickly became something I looked for everytime I started a new chapter. I think the humor is what kept me entertained...which they continued with the Pirates DLC...which is not only one of the best DLC's I've ever played but one of the longest (most companies don't put much into DLC's...but you definitely get your money's worth with this one). The worst thing about the game is horse travel...it's atrocious.

I've played better, but bought 3 times

So, this game was fun. Mostly the actual gameplay is entertaining, and the graphics are decent. Some of the voice acting is... Uh... Not good. Mostly all the NPCs are well done, but the lead character is trying SO hard to sound cool, with his gravelly voice and deadpan mood, that it's hard to take very seriously. I dunno - if you ever watched "Predators" with Adrien Brody, you'll understand what I'm talking about. I found myself rolling my eyes virtually every time the PC talks. The combat is good fun, the world is definitely open, and I like that (always), but some of the stuff you fight is just silly. Ostriches? Really? OSTRICHES? C'mon man. Still, after all my bad mouthing, I've bought this game 3 times now from different retailers. It's worth the buy, and worth playing, and at the end of the day, I quite enjoyed it.
