Description
At the beginning of your epic adventure, a mercenary mission takes you to the far north - but you’re also following up a mysterious lead at the same time – the first clue you’ve been given since Kyra’s disappearance. You're shocked during a meeting with the delegates of a dark Brotherhood - your sister’s kidnappers are indeed after your family’s relic. Whether there’s any truth in your family being the chosen ones or not, the others obviously believe it - and if you ever want to see Kyra again, you’ll have to act swiftly. You are the only person able to unlock the secrets of a dead god's tomb, and all the forces in the land want your help to seize its power.

  • Includes the original Two Worlds along with two expansions - Tainted Blood and Curse of Souls
  • A vast and diverse world to explore, brought to life by the game's impressive visuals
  • A well-told and gripping story with an abundance of side quests

A simple pleasure!

I am not going to rehash all the excellent previous comments. But, this game still holds up and is a complete blast to play. The dialogue is clunky and a bit "off" but it is also quite humorous. The world is large and the encounters challenging; if you want to rush in and hack away you may have to rethink your approach. Real-time strategy is a must and really enhances the game play experience. Using certain skills and items can be difficult to understand (death strike with daggers mainly) but once you comprehend the mechanics you will be pleasantly surprised. The use of the hot-key bars has been tough for me to get a grip on, as one of the bars is filled automatically by the game while the others are for you to populate. I find myself having to press F8 and F9 often in combat, which is awkward. You level up pretty quickly, but you do not become overpowered too fast. There is no character creation to speak of; like The Witcher you have your hero chosen for you and it is a man. In fact, apart from the hero's sister there are no strong women characters to speak of, at least not as of yet in my experience. So, suspend your chagrin at the wonky and goofy dialogue and lip syncing, accept the fact that you have to play a male hero, and take the time to get used to the controls// skills and play away. If you enjoy open-ended, non-linear worlds with many, many side quests and some crafting opportunities (alchemy can play a large role) then this is a game you should try.

So bad.

Slapping weapons together is fun, I'll give it that. Skill system is alright too... I've put more hours into this game than I care to admit. Aside from the various entertainingly broken item and alchemy systems to screw around with, this game doesn't have much going for it. Bland dungeons, TERRIBLE combat, lame story, oh boy! It's got everything you could ever not want in your RPG. I hear what people say about it being fun despite it's badness, and that might happen for you, but really, there are so many other better open world RPGS out there to spend your time with, and that won't leave you feeling icky afterward. Gothic 2 for starters! It's everything this game wishes it could be! The worst part I find is that nothing in this game matters. You can dodge most attacks, sot he gear you get doesn't much count. Upgrading your weapon only means you kill faster. The game play stays the same the entire time, with the only change being a new pallet of fields to stare at. Sadly, it took me about 30 hours and the obligatory Fire and Brimstone Zone to realize how much of my life I had wasted. If you absolutely must play this game, get it on sale, as I do admit, some of the dialogue can be laugh out loud bad. It's almost as though the main voice actor KNOWS he's in a garbage game and so delivers everything tongue in cheek. It is unfortunate this studio has since folded. They had their hearts in the right place, but that only counts for so much.

A solid good RPG

First the bad things, the voice acting is terrible. Seriously bad. If you manage to not mind about it, you have a hard at first, not so hard from the middle onwards, epic action RPG. A large amount of weapons, armour and magic available to you. A large beautiful world to explore. Hard battles that will test your skills. Weapon upgradability, with magic, and with combining two or more exact same versions of the same weapon. Beautiful graphics, interesting enemies, solid missions. Horseriding is a must later in the game to save time walking, although there are always portals spread out in the world (that you need to discover to activate them). You can get at least 20 solid hours of gaming, more if you decide to do every single side mission available. Also, depending on your choices, the world changes, ownership of towns and missions etc. So you can play the game more than once, not just with a different character and proficiencies, but also actual in game choices. A great RPG, well worth the price asked.

A very competent RPG

I have this one on disc and because of GOG I got around to play it. I'm one of those who grew up with the Japanese RPGs, because I'm mainly a console player. Until the day I got Oblivion. After ripping my life apart because of Oblivion, I came about Two Worlds, and the game immediately got my attention and sympathy. I read the reviews and the game was soon cast aside as a flawed product. Yes, the voice acting is sub-par, lip-synch is non-existent, but during your travels those are easy to overlook, because the WORLD is incredible. Lots to do right from the start and you have a horse really early. Yay for that. Sub-quests abound, and as usual, are the normal "go there kill that and return for the reward". Not bad, because everything is fairly close, so the quests won't take too long. You'll die often, but the good thing is that you spwan, instead of having to reload a save. All in all, a very good deal, plays good with Microsoft's gamepad and... The third person view works better than Oblivion's. ^^ If you like Bethesda's behemoth, this one will not disappoint. Get it without thinking too much and take advantage of the mod community. I recommend you install Two Words Control Panel. You'll thank me later. :)

Oblivion like game

To summarize, you can see that the creators were trying to make their own Oblivion like game.
