At the beginning of your epic adventure, a mercenary mission takes you to the far north - but you’re also following up a mysterious lead at the same time – the first clue you’ve been given since Kyra’s disappearance. You're shocked during a meeting with the delegates of a dark Brotherhood - your sister’s kidnappers are indeed after your family’s relic. Whether there’s any truth in your family being the chosen ones or not, the others obviously believe it - and if you ever want to see Kyra again, you’ll have to act swiftly.
You are the only person able to unlock the secrets of a dead god's tomb, and all the forces in the land want your help to seize its power.

This game is so horrible that it almost has a laughable charm to it. The gameplay is wonky and unsatisfying, the story is mediocre at best and it's all delivered with some of the most awkward voice acting I've ever heard. Any of these shortcomings would have easily been overlooked if the total package wasn't so desperately flawed. That this game was EVER sold with a full price tag is remarkable and the $9.99 they are asking for is far better spent elsewhere.
You can enjoy the game if you use its potential with very high re-playability.
Graphics are really good and do not try to be funny or go comic style.
The whole game is VO in several languages and no need for subtitles, this is amazing with the amount of script in the game. The hero a charming guy with exceptional manners towards women :P
The islands are pretty much open world, you could jump straight into action and kill everything on the map without doing any questing after the tutorial. The access to instanced quest areas are usually blocked until the quests are started.
You've got total freedom in the skill system, but cannot use every skill with every weapon. Melee, bows, traps, observing eyes, custom spells, you name it.
Alchemy, crafting and thievery are a big thing in TW2, but you can do without.
There is still more content I haven't even looked at yet, like multiplayer, village simulation etc.
All maps and the pirates addon can be merged into one large map with a mod and makes the world really huge.
If you are like me and want to be pushed into the right direction by quests but able to decide where and when you go, this is a game for you.
Despite some issues, and non AAA animations/textures ... I rather liked this RPG.
While it doesn't have the C&C of, say the Witcher series, it is easily on par with TES as well as the open worldness.
What set this game apart is the rather cool magic system which easily is my favorite in an RPG since Morrowind.
Many people tried this game for a few minutes and it didn't grab them and they drew the conclusion it sucked. If you give it patience to get through the first Act, I think you will be hooked to finish it.
Probably as good an RPG as Gothic 3, though not quite up to Gothic I, II or the Witcher series. Easily beats modern TES games unless you like your RPGs dumbed down.
