Alan Bradley has finally perfected the technology to digitize people, which allows humans to enter the internal world of a computer. His program, "Ma3a," has AI sophisticated enough to store the entire gene code of a person and the mathematical equations necessary to transfer people back and forth between the physical and digital world.
However, fCon - Future Control Industries - has learned of Alan's research and is moving to take over the company. When Alan disappears mysteriously, finding him is up to Jet, his son. Jet uses his father's technology to enter the computer world and, while investigating his father's disappearance, discovers a sinister plot.
Four "primitive" weapons - disk, rod, ball, and mesh - are encountered in the computer world, though the disk is the only weapon that can be used both offensively and defensively. Jet will also ride light-cycles, both the classic cycle from the 1982 film and a new "experimental" update from designer Syd Mead (also responsible for the original light-cycle design).
I'll keep this pretty short and simple. Tron 2.0 really emerges you in its world. It's one of those "down the rabbit hole we go" games , like what bioshock does to you. The world still feels believable, real and alive. One of my favorite sounds from the original Tron movie was the Recognizer's. Was sad in Tron Legacy they didn't sound the same. Tron 2.0 they do and it's bad ass. The combat feels good blocking discs and the skill-up system is highly addicting.
I liked Tron Legacy, but this story is way more interesting and feels like a direct sequel to the events of the first movie. The gameplay is super solid for an old FPS, and it kinda reminds me of Deus Ex but without the choices. Not entirely bad, but really good for what it is. It accomplishes what a TRON game should be, complete with Light Cycles and disc combat, and those are both done stellarly.
Hi, superb FPS, enter a computer bit age as you infiltrate electronic systems as the program. TRON graphics are very very unique. It is sad to see this titles age but has 1280x960 res & is excellent.
System A1 chatters + NPC's speeches. Port, repair, disinfect, defrag, install & reinstall memory mods i.e. subroutines, jump higher, weapon + armor bonuses, damp movement, info's, enemy stats, etc. Restore energy & health. Collect & find emails, nodes, binary bits, permissions, build points. Take out enemies, drones. Configurable keys (i.e. movements, weapons, jump, crouch, toggle crouch, toggle walk or run, holster weapon, zoom in & out, info help. Has sliders for (weapon sway, head bob, message durations). Subtitles (on or off). In the cycle beam wall race environments has configurable keys for 1'st or 3'rd (FPS or TPS) person views. Supports keyboard + mouse + gamepad + joystick, SP + MP. Overall a worthy title & outdates many as a futuristic FPS with freedom of exploration. Weapons like, TRON disk, suffusion blaster, cluster (shards), LOL with zoom, amongst others. I had to lower the mouse completely & add smoothing about 1/4 only. Well worth the purchase for that gloomy day.
Excellent.
Have this game in original dvd rom format
As stated, very original as an FPS, which might sound ironic since FPS are so popular.
This one is really good and its design allow it to age gracefully, the gameplay is tight.
It,s a good length also
Recommended.
This was the first PC game I bought with my own money more than 20 years ago and its still as fun as the last time I finished it. You won't find a more unique setting than this coupled with an interesting inventory and upgrade system. Using the disc, which is you first weapon in the game, is so fun and versatile. You could go through the whole game with just that first weapon!
