If you liked Trine 1 and 2, you'll like this.
The puzzles aren't quite as tricky in this game as in some of the earlier ones, but that might actually be a positive. It definitely makes this game much more relaxing.
And it's a beautiful visual feast as always.
Before we start I need to say that I loved trine 3 3d and all, the only bad thing was the incomplete and really bad story. Sure the puzzles were easier than 2 but I still think the first 3d incarnation was better than most people said.
That's why I waited to buy trine 4, I didn't want trine 2 again, I like the trine series because it evolve with every interaction. Trine 3 was not better then 2 but it was different and I liked for that.
When I got my new pc I got 3 months of stadia pro for free and in the last month they added trine 4 so it was a good time to try this game.
It is actually really good and it's nothing like trine 2 or 1 or 3, sure they are back to 2.5D but the puzzle of this game are better than any other trine, the combat is more interesting, the bosses are not just combat but also puzzles and the story is actually a lot better than any trine. It's so good that I will play it again and that's why I will buy it as soon as stadia expires (on gog drm free of course, I only used streaming gaming because it was free I don't really like to use money on something like that).
Per gli italiani, è anche doppiato in italiano.
What Frozenbyte tried (and failed) with Trine 3 ultimately was a bad idea, but that they would move out of their comfort zone and try a new idea is a good thing because too many modern developers refuse to do anything than put out stale remakes and remasters and sequels that stagnate. Trine 4 is a return to the tried and true Trine 2 that the fans wanted, and for many, this is the real Trine 3 we were waiting for. However, there is too little and too late. It is not a BAD game, minding the stars above. It was unfortunately not willing to try to take Trine 2 and increase the complexity of the formula, instead becoming more casual and simplified. In the end, Trine 2 remains the undisputed champion of this series. I am glad Frozenbyte reversed the mistake from Trine 3 by making this game, but they tried to be too careful and as a result it was simply average, and I won't remember it like I do Trine 2.
Good and old «Trine 4» is returned. Well, something from the 3rd game was removed. But it still a good adventure without a very interesting story and characters, but wonderful environment and easy gameplay.
I'm sorry what some good moments from «Trine 3: The Artifact Power» not placed here. The interactive mission select was very pretty, but here we have some kind of boring menu.
I hope in the future franchise will be more changes like in the 3rd game, but with normal quality.
Sadly I expect more, but sadly this game is short, most queues are to easy to resolve (or abuse and repeating in circle the same mechanism), also story is avarge (or boring).
From good site you can expect good graphic and animations, control, also music and forsaken any quasi 3D that appeared in Trine 3.
Personally I bought this game because sentiment for series and on some sale -(IMHO is not worth full price).
