It wasn't engaging
I played the game through half-way in the second level of the Tower. That was when I couldn't continue anymore. It was simply not engaging. Set in a gloomy world where hope was not even dimly visible, this game is not what you need if you wish to forget the gloom that comes with COVID-19 pandemic. The characters are exploring a mysterious tower. Why? Even they don't know. The characters often bicker with one another, making condescending remarks that annoy their comrades. Sometimes, their bickering leads to a stand-off, the resolution of which results in a permanent loss in combat performance. Between expensive upgrades, battles that start and end pretty much without any significant involvement of me, the apparent impossibility of building a powerful squad, a gloomy world, bickering characters, and a lack of purpose in exploring the tower, I was perplexed: What I was doing, why I was doing it, and what was the ultimate in-world goal? The main character in this game was compelled by some non-descript magic. But this magic could not compel me.

Lame
TLDR: This game has very few elements and does all of them badly. The story is nonsensical and, to be honest, pretty stupid. The characters are stupid and 1 dimensional except when they do a 180° just to do another 180° 5 minutes later. 0 character developement. The gameplay is a mix of point and click adventure for world exploration and FF12+ combat-like system. Except there is no puzzle element. It's basically just the clicking. Also the combat is more like as if the FF-12 combat system is made for a mobile game. The "decisions" you can make have no influence over the story or your characters. Your characters all have the same 4 stats you can put points in to level them up. The skills they have can be slightly adapted. Kind of like they Diablo 3 keystones. I think I got the game for free or something, I don't know how it got into my library so I guess it's worth that much. But not the 21€ they actually want.

Diablo clone
This game should not be classified as a rpg, as there is very little roleplaying. It is a hack-and-slash game where you have to micromanage units as they go from one battle to the next.
