A new kind of RPG awaits you. A story-rich dungeon crawler with innovative real-time combat that lets you pause or slow time. Tactical thinking is essential to succeed. Enter the mysterious Tower of Time and experience the incredible adventures that lie within.
Tower of Time is an incredible adventure packed with over 50 hours of gameplay, hand-crafted levels, and a rich story told through cinematics. Taking classic RPG gameplay to the next level, Tower of Time features flexible character development, thousands of pieces of loot and equipment and the complex and tactical Arrow-Time real-time combat system.
Engaging story of epic proportions
Immerse yourself in a world where technology meets magic with devastating consequences. Gather a group of diverse champions and lead them through the tower. Hundreds of lore books and scattered pieces of information slowly reveal the history of Artara as your party of adventurers approach their fate.
Deep tactical real-time combat with pause or slow-time
Take ultimate strategic control of each battle with the Arrow-Time combat system that slows the action down to a crawl or pauses it. Plan ahead and position your party where you need them for ultimate effect. Use Arrow-Time to react to new threats, deploy devastating new spells and attacks and counter enemy attacks. No two encounters are ever the same. On harder difficulties - look at each battle as a tactical puzzle.

20-minutes into this "game" and all it's offered is a few clicks to walk through a single small level and lots of very slowly spoken narration with no way I can find to skip these interminable scenes. Presumably there's a game in there somewhere, but I'm not sure I'm going to wait hours to find out. Artwork is well done. Music sounds like it could be generated by an algorithm.
This game just doesn't click for me. I played for 2 hours and I got bored. Story feels disconnected and the combat feels cheap. Wish i can refund this :(
This game could be an almost 5-stars title, if it wasn’t for the historical bias, artificially and unnecessarily introduced in the final levels.
Tower of Time features a very creative setting, flexible skills system, a great battle system and very detailed graphics. The decisions you are forced to take result in your team members taking different alignments to the point that you won’t be able to make everyone happy. Technically is quite stable, with only some few crashes after battles.
***SPOIL ALERT***
The plot drives the player to a level where a parallel universe merges into the starring characters’ universe. This parallel universe is dominated by zealous and violent humans. Until this point all character and bosses names fit very well in the Tower of Time universe, and then, unexpectedly appear three bosses named after Spanish conquistadors, without any connection to any other element in the game’s plot.
*** END OF SPOIL ALERT ***
I’m not trying to minimize Spain’s historical responsibility, but the way Tower of Time handles it just feeds a black legend in an unnecessary way to the game’s plot. This is unfair.
!!! NON-OPTIMIZED UNITY GAME WARNING! CAN COOK YOUR CPU. !!!
Summary: NOT RECOMMENDED. It's a me-too product that poorly imitates other games out there (Diablo, D&D games, even MOBAs) and fails to make those elements any fun. It's the same mandatory-clean-sweep style of gameplay for 12 levels where you click on things and fight everything in a 100 % linear fashion. Add in a boring rip-off of a story and gameplay that gets old after the first level, the buyer's remorse will be strong with this one.
Graphics: looks like a PS2 game, yet is so horribly non-optimized that it runs worse than Saints Row 2 PC port. Lowering details does not do anything, lowering the resolution only helps a bit.
Sound: the usual placeholder ambient.
Gameplay: various issues. Diablo controls without item highlighting ( you have to pick up all gold coins from the floor like a slave ), various kinds of busy work and mandatory fetch quests (Level 4 is mindnumbingly bad with this) and most importantly, tons of forced trial-and-erroring with the fake choices that permanently punish you (e.g. the fountains that take away your attribute points). The randomly-generated item drops are all trash.
"7 unique characters" Nope, they, too, are all rip-offs. A knight, a thievish marksman, a dwarf, etc. everything you have seen before. The only unique parts are the equipment restrictions and whether they melee or ranged attacks.
"Complex skill system" NO. You have two minor bonus effects per skill. You can only have one and one of them is usually vastly better than the others (like it is with most "choices" in this game, only option gives you something useful).
"Rich equipment system" A lie. You can either equip your best gear or not.
"150 enemies with unique skills and tactics" They are all the same. Even the level bosses come at you like idiots and walk into your traps. All they do is get into the attack range and start spamming attacks and skills.
The storytelling is worthless, repetitive fluff.
