Description
The year is 1989 and deep in the sweltering heat of the Mayan jungle, camouflaged among the Inca ruins, Ernesto Cruz catches his breath for a few moments and admires his handiwork, bodies strewn across the temple ruins, as he makes a last gasp effort to board a DEA plane to take him to safety. He never made it home, the tragic victim of an alleged 'overdose’. Two weeks later, Ernesto's son, Ramiro Cruz is hauled out of jail by the DEA to be told his twin brother, Tommy, works for them as an undercover agent and has some new information about their father's death. But, Tommy has had an accident with a hand grenade and now Ramiro must take his brother's place in an undercover operation closing in on the ruthless drug cartel overlord Papa Muerte.

Take control of Ramiro Cruz, a man on a crazy mission through Mexico's drug-fuelled underworld. An amazing combat system keeps the action intense, mixing third person action with an incredible combo system for maximum carnage - and maximum replayability. Hilarious special moves and a huge amount of weaponry makes Total Overdose as frantic and fun an adventure as you could ever hope to find, and a red-hot latin soundtrack fits the action perfectly. This can be the perfect Latino gangsta sandbox game you were looking for all your life!

  • A rich storyline as it takes you through 18 different environments, from the seedy red light district of Los Toros to the depths of the Mexican desert.
  • Take down your enemies with a free-style combat and stunt system that gives you more outrageous moves than you can shake a hot chili at.
  • Meet über-cool characters and take part in missions with a strong whiff of tequila.

Repetitive, and not that good

The first time I tried this game on PC, I just couldn't get myself to finish it. The game becomes so boring so soon you keep wondering why you're still playing it, and there is one, specific reason why this is the case: no real, satisfying response from the enemies you kill. All of the enemies you shall ever encounter are "bullet sponges", shooting at a body part makes no difference at all, whether you're trying to kill your enemy via headshot or simply aiming at his feet; sure, it is reflected in the bonuses and power-ups you receive from killing enemies, but the enemies react in pretty much the same way: they either stay alive or they die. Rarely, if at all, does shooting your enemies in the head vs. shooting at their arms make any difference; they still need a specific amount of bullets to drop dead. And this is way more serious than might seem at first, and giving your character bonuses based on how you dispatch your enemies is a poor excuse for the lack of a sensible damage system or whatever. And I still can get to finish it. I mean, sure, I will try, but playing games should not be a chore. I get the crude, cliché, almost racist humour, I get poor, unappealing graphics, but this is the single worst flaw that kills any kind of enjoyment. And the missions suck too, it's always the same thing, go there, shoot a bunch of miscreants that will start popping out of nowhere, and when you're done, collect your reward.

Lackluster at best!

This game was AMDE for Playstation-2, & original Xbox, yet is has NO CONTEOLLER SUPPORT with either CO's joysticks?!? WTAF The graphics are Caca, The music is muey Caca, the game maxed on all graphical settings doesn't even look as good as the store pictures, the screen scaling is so messed up it actually altered the GOG Galaxy UI, & I couldn't get the mouse to click on ANY icons... thankfully this went away with a GOG reboot. The game WOULD have been great on PS-2, but My idea of fun isn't getting a stiff/sore back hunching over My Keyboard/mouse like Golum trying to clean out His' belly button for hours on end! So at $1.49 this game is BARELY worth it, real gamers use controllers, & yes even the really good PC ones do too, so short of having to use some 3rd party app to remap mouse/KB to the controller (something Steam has built in for EVERY game, too bad they don't have this game), I doubt I'll play this much.

GoG ...Good old Games????

There is nothing god in this game. Yes, it has some insane special moves like Jet Li with to much wire. Buts thats that. Rich storyline? Forget that shit. Shoot everything and be done. And don't fear that maybe there are consequences for your actions. In GTA the cops try to hunt you down. In TO you shoot them and thats it.
