Expected little, got less than that
Forgot I had this game, so I played it to figure out why I bought it. Had to stop an hour in. The pixel art was nothing special, on par with default RPG Maker assets. The gameplay was bland, but would've been fine if the characters weren't painfully obnoxious. The protagonists had the comedic depth of a snarky teenager. Not the witty kind. The kind that exclusively quotes internet memes. I've played free games with better writing than this. I still don't know why I bought this game. Wait for a sale if you're still curious, but it's absolutely not worth $10.

Buy it for the music
Don't really like it. I bought it because I was curious about the story. But playing it is a pain. Seriously, I'd rather read a book. There are many obstacles you can't cross for no apparent reason, e.g. a flower, or a rope lying on the ground. The game has some funny moments, especially in the beginning. Overall, the story is not really interesting. In fact, I finished the game a week ago and I don't recall why the guy wanted to go to the moon right now. All you do in this game is walking around, pressing the spacebar when standing in front of certain objects, and solving the same kind of puzzle over and over again. The best thing about this one is the soundtrack. That's why I'm giving it two stars.

Good story, but not fun
Good story, but as a game I did not find it fun. It's more or less a pixelated walking simulation. The story and music are the traits that everyone praises, for good reasons. However my overall experience was that this could have been much better as a movie or book, but not so much as a game. I'm aware that I'm in the minority, but I don't believe the game really enhanced the story for me.

A little broken....
I wish I could be kinder to this game. The story it tells is actually really good, running the gambit from dour and serious (as you are dealing with an end-of-life story) to absolutely hilarious (Dr. Watts might just be one of the best things to come out of indie games... period). And yet it's all cohesive and flows brilliantly, and looks and sounds great doing it. But at the same time the gameplay is more carried by everything else then actually what carries everything. Still all of this could have been great in it's own right despite (and maybe because) of it's own flaws if it had actually worked. On a technical level, a game ending bug killed this one before anything else could really stand up. (Trying to navigate one of the maps froze solid and loading the game from then on I basically was a ghost without the ability to respond to the map at all)
