Interesting Lore, Mediocre Gameplay

If you liked the GBA/DS Castlevanias, you will enjoy this one, even though the gameplay is lacking compared to its idols. And if you find this game too easy or too boring, try out the Castlevania titles Aria of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin. PROS + Lovely art style that reminds me of SNES/PS1 RPGs + Enemies and level design reminiscent of Castlevania + Very interesting story and lore - I hope they will pick up some loose ends in the sequel + Great traversal (areas don't overstay their welcome and fast travel is widely available) + Interesting and diverse cast of characters CONS - Potential of time travel and time stopping mechanic underutilised, both in narrative and gameplay - Often hard to figure out where to go next without guessing - Gameplay either too easy or too hard - In Easy Mode, there's little incentive to explore additional abilities

Fun short game

I liked it. Especially the music. The action is enjoyable and it isn't too hard (you can grind a lot if you want).

Castlevania knockoff but still fun

basically a order of eclissia knockoff but i loved those igavanias so I enjoyed this game a lot. main thing is that it was way too easy. i played through the whole game on normal and never died. i came close on a few bosses but with the freeze time mechanic and the number of heals you get the fights are simple. i wish you could combine powers but ther are a lot of weapons so it is okay. might replay on nightmare mode to 100% it.

Great game, but not still flawed

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Possibly the best storytelling in any Metroidvania I've ever played, and that's despite the inherent silliness of the time travel element. Great artwork. Great gameplay. So why does it only get four stars? Well, there are just a few things that really bothered me about it. For example, there are a bunch of "kill 5 sirens" sidequests, with the given goal of thinning the numbers of the enemy. This makes no sense in terms of the actual mechanics of the game, because all enemies respawn when you reenter the room. In fact, the only way you'll find five sirens to kill is by taking advantage of that respawning. You can kill as many sirens as you want, you can get credit for killing the sirens, but the number of sirens never decreases, and nobody seems to notice. This is bad enough by itself, but it also goes directly against the central theme of the game of how your actions are supposed to change the future. Well, they don't - not unless the action is one of a small fixed set of plot points. The vast majority of your actions barely even affect the present.

Game worth the money

I decided to try this out after having read many bad/not so good reviews. Turned out it's actually very decent. Musics are definetely the most enjoyable part along with the pixel art. Story is... Eh. Do not expect something remarkable, altough I actually liked the background provided by the looted items (especially the past of the main character's mother). I think the real complain about this game is that it is rather short and easy (I highly suggest to start on the highest difficulty avaiable). Now, I also have read some very bad reviews which criticize the game's developer for the sexual content. For those who don't know, there are many homosexual relationships within this indie. It didn't bother me, honestly. Those are related most to secondary missions which can be skipped. I actually laughed a lot as I read all the wars started around internet about this kind of aspect, and I'm totally heterosexual.
