Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics.
Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran and queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.

WITCHER3 is an EXCELLENT game. I can give him 960 points (1000 full marks). Then I was MOVED by the follow-up efforts of cdpr and gave it an extra 120 points. However, I found that 3.7% of cdpr's efforts were suspected to be fishy, so the final score was 960 + 120 = 1080,1080 * 3.7% = 4. Subtracting 4 STAR from the original 5-star evaluation, and there is only ONE STAR left
Before you reach for that button to delete this review because it's "not letting the game stand entirely on its own merits" -- crap like this DOES affect my in-game experience, directly. I CAN'T enjoy playing the game associated with this crap.
With this being a GOG-exclusive release, I didn't want to mess with GOG's worthless review system, so I went to the forums to see what people were saying about this game. What I found is ANY critical thread of the game was systematically locked or, as I've seen some people claim, deleted: and from what I've seen, I don't put deleting criticism below CDPR anymore. The moderators used reasoning like "this is a duplicate thread, use this other thread instead" -- with the other thread they were linking to also being locked shortly afterwards; or that the thread wasn't "respectful" enough, even though the contests weren't even -close- to being offensive or insulting.
I guess there's a couple of lessons to learn from this: even companies you thought were good and respectable can go downhill overnight. And if you see an exclusive release of any sort, save yourself some time and don't even begin to consider it.
I have to say that I am very disappointed in the game. You could have made so much more out of it. For example, a round-based RPG, in the style of HoMM or Kings Bounty. But with what did you have to connect the game? Gwent!
Why Gwent? Gwent destroys the already not easy to build up atmosphere of the game. it makes the game annoying, illogical and slow-acting.
You find a bunch of bandits and you play Gwent, you meet a monster and you play Gwent, you escape a stone avalanche and you play Gwent.
Since when, please, do stupid monsters and stones play a card game? You want to scream so stupid is that!
Clearly just a game for fans of this superfluous card game. All other RPG fans will be very disappointed with this game.
I do not want to play it after at least 2 hours playing time.
+ nice drawn game world
+ Typical Witcher Universe music
+ Simple point n click control
- Gwent
- you have to click through conversations
- Gwent, Gwent, and again Gwent
