Thief™ 3: Deadly Shadows

Play the damn game. The hate is unwarranted with the unofficial patch. Game looks gorgeous, artistically so. Sound design is phenomenal, atmosphere immense. Story encapsulating, level design incredible with lots of visual and gameplay variety and the game holds up beautifully. I've always liked this wayyy more than Thief 2, which I also love. Go in with an open mind and the patch and you'll love it, otherwise you're missing out on an experience. THIS is why I play video games.

You need the unoficial patch to be able to play it on modern system. GOG should make it very clear. But when you do - ow my... What a fantastic game! I just finished it, played back to back with Thief 1 and 2, all on highiest dificulty. And thats how this game should be played imo. Atmospheric, great story... And sure you can encounter glitch or two but its still 5 stars for me. It is a masterpiece no doubt.

Please get the sneaky upgrade.Without it the game is broken ,but with it the game is as good as Thief 1 and 2.

Thief 1 was the first. When i saw this game i really excited and loved it. 2, was a good next step. But 3, is different. It is an example to next generation games. About; How can keep your spirit with good graphics. How can improve your first, brilliant idea and feed it with the amateur spirit comes from the first days. How can add more, diferent story lines, levels and ambiences. (Hospital!) Yes, This 3 is different. Its another success from same source.

This is the second thief game I've played, and unlike what others suggest, I am not at all disappointed with this installment. In fact, this is my favorite thief game thus far. Lot of new additions that critics overlook, such as the city segments, being able to buy items, pick pocketing, and the lock-pick mini game as they call it. Graphics are gorgeous for a PC game and the environments are all very refreshing, unlike some duds in Thief Gold. If you liked the first two thief games, you will like this as long as you keep an open mind.
