Very good, but be careful.

I played the game from start to finish (good karma), it was the first time I played this game. I finished it just a couple of hours ago for my Twitch channel. I played it at 1080p windowed mode on a Windows 10 desktop PC. The specs of the PC are i7-5960X (8C 16T), GTX 1660 Super, 64GB RAM, PCIE SSD). Native desktop resolution of 2560x1440. I experienced zero crashes and zero noticeable faults other than an occasional lower than average framerate in some occasions which while there did not affect the game at all as they never happened during action. It took me 10 sessions of an average of about 4 hours each. Normal difficulty, though I admit I don't remember if I picked one at all. The game is an action rpg, with open world mechanics though not to the extend of say the Fallout games. Most of the game takes place in "closed worlds", for example a large city, or smaller other places. The travel between those places is done with a fast travel mechanic vaguely similar to the wagon in Skyrim. When you are inside one of those maps (like a city), depending on the size of it, there can be multiple levels within in it which are treated as different maps. You can travel between them with riding elevators or doorways. Within each map you can travel on foot. A lot. I am guessing about 25% of the game was me walking from place to place within a map. The fights are fun, with variety in options (3 different stances with weapons and skills to go you can pick on the fly) and one which is always available together with your chosen one. Good variety of weapons and armor to find, purchase and upgrade. Still, this is not Skyrim. Good story, a ton of missions (main and side), optional missions, decisions affecting the story, etc. Good music, good acting, good graphics. Good story. Good game. The main 2 negatives, tons of walking and rotating mini maps which makes it impossible to not also use the main map. No compass hurts too. Worth playing.

Mars; The Story Continues.

The Technomancer events continue from where Mars War Logs ended but as you might imagine is much bigger and more sophisticated. I had very few technical problems with the game except for a few minor bugs which can easily be rectified if you run into them, by doing an Internet search for the particular problem. The character progress interface is a little convoluted and you need a bit of patience with it at the beginning. The narrative is excellent and leaves plenty of room for further instalments from the game developers (I hope) :) . The graphics are more than adequate if a bit monochromatic with red shades as you may expect on Mars, however this just draws you into the world and makes you wistful for the green of Earth. The game-play quests do involve a lot of back tracking and this can become a bit of a grind especially near the latter parts of the game. Combat is fairly well balanced with the difficulty becoming greater as you progress. I am a very old game-player so perhaps I am not so critical of more modern games and tend to think most of them are simply amazing for what you pay, this one is definitely re-playable and as I can’t give it nine out of ten I will give it the full five stars.

Techincal Limitations

Game will not run unless you disable all but four cores from your processor, this can be done in BIOS, it is as clunky and janky to do as it sounds.

Nice story in uniqe setting

I just finished the game and enjoyed it overall. I really like the approach for the storytelling and handling of the companions with option of romance. The worldsetting is in my opinion made great and unique as well. Like for Greedfall i am always eager to find out how the story is going to unfold. The main problem i had with the game is the pointless running around. For a lot of quests you have to fetch things and bring them back, just for the quest giver to send you for something else to the same destination. This makes it a little annoying after a while. If you can deal with this issue the game ist a rough diamond worth playing. Bugs like mentioned in some other reviews didn't occur for me. The game did run flawless and without any problems.

I love Spyders...But.

Having fallen in love with Greedfall (and finishing a recent replay of it), I decided to take one step back in the developer's evolutionary tree to The Technomancer. All of the things that I expected, positive and negative, were there (a rich world that I wanted to learn more about, horrible voice acting, interesting and challenging combat, a metric ton of jank, &c.). However, I have had so many quests, esp. side quests, glitch out or bug out on me (running on a Windows 10 machine which is no slouch), CtDs, full computer restarts mid-cutscene, and the like that I eventually had to give up on it. I wanted to play more, but the feeling I got from the game was that I would not be permitted to do so. Just wait for the sequel to Greedfall.
