Description
Lose yourself in a tale of magic and wonder, where anything is possible and where nothing is quite what it seems: join young Jerry and follow a peculiar white rabbit to the wondrous realm of Mousewood, a land where critters can speak and where mystery abounds.

It is here that Jerry’s dream of being a magician comes true, though a haunting, sinister force casts a long shadow over the forest. Someone offers the residents of Mousewood a deal of their lifetime - tickets to the greatest magic show that the world has ever seen. But the price is steep, as they'll have to bet their houses, their money… and their lives.

As the shadows grow deeper, the residents of Mousewood have only Jerry to turn to. On an adventure full of laughter and tears, joy and fear, the young boy will face the ultimate trial, leaving behind the world he once knew, and his childhood, too, will become a thing of the past.
  • It’s a story-driven exploration/adventure from Matthias Kempke, who believes that game design is all about creating new worlds to be explored by players.
  • Multi-layered story that starts out light-hearted and funny, but which shifts to a dramatic and thought-provoking tone over the 20 hours of gameplay.
  • The animal people who populate the game were originally developed in short stories written by game creator; these stories are included as the in-game bonuses.

Beautiful, story/worlddriven game.

I have few things to say that previous reviewers have not aldready said; This game is stunningly beautiful, left me desperately craving for more and with that feeling of adventure that you can otherwise only get on a day of summer vacation. I loved the story and the numerous quote unquote "side"-quests made me feel like I got to know the world better and the cute character design often made me smile. I feel the need to mention the music on its own. It is fantastic, and even listening on repeat for some twelve hours of gameplay managed to ruin the atmosphere of the score for me. With that said, if you do not like point-and-click puzzle/adventure type games, this might not be for you. I think the puzzles were generally logical in the "oh, I should have gotten that right away" kind of feeling after you've tried an item with every possible clickpoint because you know it's connected somehow, just not exactly how. This is not a game to grind and beat, it's a game to wander around and get lost in, to get to know the world and its inhabitants. You then solve puzzles and figure out the story as you go along. (When I say "left me wanting for more," I mean that in the good way. If Daedalic were to release a sequel or a tie-in I would buy it in a heartbeat.)

Meh...

This is probably the weakest Daedalic adventure I played -- and I played a lot because even though they are not always great (some are), they usually never fail to entertain. This one does. It has great visuals and decent audio, but it lacks in every other department: While there are certainly good sections in the game, it does not work as a whole. Even though the story framework is good, the story telling and the pacing of the game are awful. The villain is only revealed in the very last section of the game. His story, and why he threatens the magic world is only explained during a picture sequence right before the credits roll. There is no character development for any of the characters and the protagonist is very weak to begin with. The dialogues are long but not rewarding. Many of the puzzles do not make sense which comes down to a lot of try and error -- hints are too sparse and the help function of the game is not helpful at all. The developers should have spend more time on the story board and character development and not on the optional card game and dew drop pixel hunt for bonus material which do not add anything to the main game.

Charming, but with some flaws

On the surface Night of the Rabbit looks like a children's game, but the puzzles range from simple to hardcore. The graphics are beautiful, there are many nice touches, and there is a large world to explore. Unfortunately I found myself wondering around all too often not having a clue what I'm supposed to do next. And the ending was a bit... weird, and it felt unfinished. But overall, the game has a lot of charm, and left a positive impression. Recommended, but have a walkthrough handy!

Greatest Adventure of Daedalic

The game has some weakness technically, thats for sure. On the other hand the graphic design, voices, music is excellent. The story like Fairy tale, full of twist, with a white rabbit called (funny) Marquis de Hoto. He is our guidance, with dark past but not really revealed what it is exactly - anyway I love Marqui de Hoto. Mousewood such a nice place. THere are many character you 'll meet through your journey. I even loved that grumpy Rabbit who natter about his garden. Jerry Hazelnut our protagonist such a lovely child, living with his parents, in the wood far from the grey dusty city. His dream to become a magician seems to come true when he receives an envelope with some instructions. Soon after he"ll meet with Marqui my favourite character in the game and with his help visit Mousewood to become a Treewalker...

Great adventure

Made by a big company of point-and-click games, this game is certainly great in quality. The graphics, interaction and music couldn't be more praised. But the puzzles seem too hard as the games is mainly designed for children. It may fit the people who are "young at heart" like me, but towards the grown-ups, they can do better. Anyway, It's still a great adventure.
