This is nothing less than a great short game, the animations are adorable and it has a cozy layed back humor to it.
i hope we will see more from the same universe and creator.
i'm not sure why it has so high cpu requirements tho, was hoping i could set this up on the pi for my kids, but im kinda limited to 2.1 ghz overclocked.
beautiful art, kind of flat but interesting characters, the animations are soooo detailed
well yeah its short, but definetly worth the money (lokk at the first line)
I love Bugsy <3
I've been playing games for the past 30 years and adventure games always have been one of my favourites genres. I have a true fondness for the likes of Monkey Island, Indiana Jones or Leisure Suit Larry.
I also try to regularly play games with my kids and the Little Acre is really a wonderful introduction to the adventure games genre. Visually, the game is looking great. In terms of puzzle, they are on the easy side and a seasoned player will have no issue getting through it in less than two hours. But the characters, the story and the charm will make these two hours a pleasure.
If I had to compare this game to a book. I would compare it to one of the short novels from Pratchett that he wrote for a younger audience. It's something everyone can enjoy but it's designed in a way that the younger ones (let's say around 7-8 years old) can enjoy it by themselves. For the youngest ones, it remains enjoyable but it'll require the support of an adult.
The Little Acre is an enjoyable point n click adventure with a smooth cartoon-ish style and great voice-acting!
There's so much to love about this short but wonderful title, as the art style is beautiful and the soundtrack is fitting. The voice acting is definitely among the best when it comes to point n click adventures. Gameplay-wise it's your standard point n click with inventory, puzzle solving and finding what to press next. What makes it different is the jumping between characters and interaction with other NPCs (Bugsy is very much a friend!).
The story is simple but the world itself is interesting, it definitely piques your interest and wants you to continue exploring the game as you get further in. I wouldn't mind more adventures in this universe with the characters involved!
I definitely recommend this point n click adventure, for both newcomers and old fans!
Very cute, but also quite buggy. I had to look at a walkthrough several times. Result: Each time I had already tried the correct solution, but it didn't work as it should.
Sometimes I only got further by trying all possible positions around the screen object I wanted to manipulate until it finally worked.
Then it only worked with a very short mouse click. I would probably never have thought of this if I hadn't googled it. The developer published this tip in the Steam community back in 2016.
I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say this: I had the most problems where a glove had to be charged and then used on a machine.
I was quite moved by the story at first, but the bugs completely destroyed that from about halfway through the game.
Very likely these bugs only occur occasionally under certain conditions, so most players won't be affected. Otherwise, I'm sure there would be more of them here.
So I wouldn't generally advise against buying the game, but if you're stuck, consider a bug.
