The Little Acre

Very cute game, but very short indeed (2h). Worth the time and the money.

It's short. It's cute. Perfect for a cozy sunday afternnoon. While the story-telling feels a bit fractured, it still works good enough, and the puzzles are really easy but not without some nice ideas. I have played similar adventures doing all of this much worse. (looking at you, Trüberbrook!)

The perfect game to play together with your children ( 7 - 11 ). Beautiful graphics, good story, and some very nice characters, good voices acting, and a little touch of humour. Enjoyable for adults too for these reasons. Just a little program mistake on the mac game for one puzzle , So you will need a walkthrough ( text or youtube ) to solve it. ( a question of right combinaison in the pool )

There's plenty of charm to the game, especially to the animations (kudos to whoever animated the cooking section with the little girl and the dog) and the voice-acting (especially that of Lily). However, the game's way on the short side (only an hour-and-a-half for me) and very easy. It's not necessarily a problem, especially if you're after an adventure game for children. I felt, however, that the darker moments were a touch much compared to the idyllic and comedic charm of the majority of it.

My 5 year old loves this game. This is his first time using the mouse, and he is picking it up quickly. We played through it 3 times already in 3 days. First play through I played it or walked him through it, third playthrough he played most of it on his own with my limited assistance and limited suggestions. Game highlighted; easy puzzles, items/ interactions are highlighted with an orb, full voice acting, story appropriate for a young kid, pathway is clear, not too scary, and no dying or redoing. I wish I could find more games like this.
