Dig, Fight, Explore, Build: The very world is at your fingertips as you fight for survival, fortune, and glory. Will you delve deep into cavernous expanses in search of treasure and raw materials with which to craft ever-evolving gear, machinery, and aesthetics? Perhaps you will choose instead to seek out ever-greater foes to test your mettle in combat? Maybe you will decide to construct your own city to house the host of mysterious allies you may encounter along your travels?
In the World of Terraria, the choice is yours!
Blending elements of classic action games with the freedom of sandbox-style creativity, Terraria is a unique gaming experience where both the journey and the destination are completely in the player’s control. The Terraria adventure is truly as unique as the players themselves!
Are you up for the monumental task of exploring, creating, and defending a world of your own?
The game is very fun, there unending content. If the game is not to your liking you can install any of the Billion mods that exist that change the game in any imaginable way.
Before i bought the game i was skeptical of how complex can a "2d minecraft" get, but after playing it i can say that is amazing, maybe a bit grindy but you can use the journey mode features to reduce the grind by a lot, or you can just install some mods.
Terriaria is a game that is easy to get into. And before you know it, you are building cities in the sky, elevators into Hell and spending hundreds of hours uncovering the many hidden depths of this game.
If you're not obsessed with graphics, and enjoy sandbox games, you'll probably like this. If you're a bit OCD, you'll probably be unable to stop playing. The combination of combat, crafting, and exploring is phenomenal. Every time I think I've done everything, I realize I've only scratched the surface. Since I first bought the game, it has had multiple rounds of massive, free content additions, and there's so much in the game now, it's hard to keep up with everything. This will satisfy your urge to explore and just noddle around and build stuff. The boss fights are pretty epic as well.
I've been playing this game on and off for more than a decade now, and I still enjoy it. There have been tons of big content updates over the years to keep it fresh and exciting, and the crafting system and other mechanics have improved as well.
I'll put it this way: this is my most played-game in a library of more than 800, with nearly 2000 hours played now. It's totally worth it at full price. On sale, it's a no-brainer.
Only negative, which is minor, is that I think the game has gotten almost too complex and bloated with content in the decade+ since it came out. But that's manageable, and exploring, building, and battling are all still fun.
My Steamcopy has 700h+ still I bought a copy here as well. :-)
The recipe of this game is easy: You, your tools and lots of materials to craft everything.
The game is structured in two parts completely open ended sandbox style.
These parts are normal and hardmode (which changes the gameworld and adds lots of new and strong enemies).
You "level up" by defeating bosses, which open up your path to higher level equipment/materials (stair system).
You are free to start off however you like and there is no "special" you can choose from or any classes or XP.
HP are gathered in form of Heart crystals and Mana in form of howling stars dropping down at night and you collect them.
There are many biomes with its own enemies and music, which is really refreshing and you will hate one or the other of these biomes. ;-)
The collection of weapons to use ranges from swords/tools to spears/flails as well as bows and different guns, also many many magic weapons.
Most of the weapons are craftable, but of course there are some which can only be found in chests or on special occasions and or dropped by bosses.
I enjoy the game a lot and it is more enjoyable, if you take your time and play with your friends.
I recommend it to everyone, who is not afraid playing a sidescroller with lots of depth!
Do not collect so much dirt ;-P
