Complex, difficult, and so much damn fun

My suggestion is use the Wiki as little as possible this is a game about exploration and discovery and figuring stuff out on your own feels amazing it's similar to minecraft but so much better in every way. It can be difficult or relatively easy unfortunately there is nothing akin to minecrafts peaceful or creative mode but for the most part how challenging it is depends on how you play, what biomes you spend your time in and how deep underground you choose to go. I would recommend it to anyone who has a strong sense of discovery, likes figuring things out, likes building and using their imagination, or likes challenging gameplay.

Amazing game!

This is an absolutely wonderful game! It's immersive, in depth, expansive, and has high re-playability due to worlds created randomly. Don't let the crude graphics fool you. There is so much to this game and will provide you with hours and hours of playing. I can't remember being so sucked into a game since the old single player Ultima games from my childhood. There is really something for everyone in here. If you want to just build and create things for the sake of just doing so, you can. Otherwise go explore, kill monsters, collect treasures and items and dig in any direction you want. This is not a game that leads you around by the nose. Which leads me to my only criticism about this game, and it's minor. You will have to go visit the "Official Terraria Wiki" web site quite frequently to find out what items do. I really think the developers should have provided an in game source of information for this. The game is playable without the wiki, but you won't know how to make things and what certain items actually do and even how to do some things. Thankfully though, they are quite clear what objects are just vanity items versus things that actually do something helpful for you in the game. The sheer amount of objects and items is rather mind blowing. This game runs beautifully on LinuxMint 18.3 64-bit Cinnamon. I have had no crashes or freezing of the program. The only thing it could really use is a program loading title screen. When I double click on the program launcher it appears like nothing is happening for roughly 30 seconds or so even though the game is actually loading. It does take a while for the computer to create new worlds, but once created, they load very quickly. One of my favorite things to do in the game so far is to dig underwater and drain large pockets of water to the bottom of the map. There is something really satisfying about that for some reason. You won't regret buying this game. Although you might regret all the hours played.

for me, the most dangerous game ever

Because i never played a game whitch motivated me to play such long seasons. I was never hooked to a game like i was to this one. For one time i played it for over 30 hours non stop, and other two times over 20 hours. It was in the beginning phase where i was just exploring the mechanics and i could not stop. There was always something new to discover and also new recipes to try out. The excitement was also rising with each new npc joining the game and then the hardmode after killing the wall of flesh. Pretty cool :-). Sadly, in the end it developed some kind of emptiness and dullness, because of the missing storyline and ending. And there are a lot of things to craft and discover that exists only for the optic (so many different types of furniture witch does not do any purpose or gameplay-changing - only eyecandy). But thats only a very little minus for the whole game-experience. Please be carefull - it is very unhealthy to play a game for that long in one season without making any break ;).

Overwhelmingly Good

Terraria is a genuinely fantastic game. I easily have over 300 hours on steam and i haven't even beaten the final boss yet. 10/10 would buy ten-fold

Destined to be a classic for all time

Easily worth the price of admission many times over. I have over 1000+ hours played on Steam with many more hours yet to come. Terraria is one of the few games I will purchase on multiple platforms.
