Description
How did the world get so ugly so fast? We were almost there, and then Gomez got scragged by a heavy turret and Slugger learned the difference between horseshoes and hand grenades. That left Rossi and me.
"There's the dropship!" Rossi screams. "We're outta here, Nik!"
"Rossi wait!" But it's too late. A particle beam turns Rossi into a smear on the landscape. The pirate sniper makes a quick sprint for cover... not quick enough.
"Get aboard, Nikola!" your radio squawks. Suddenly, a hulking tank crests the hill launching a deadly hail of missiles at your position.
The radio crackles: "Nikola? Nikola, are you there? Come in Squad Leader..."

Overlooked tactical shooter

This game was overlooked very much like Looking Glass' System Shock and it is a shame as this is a really well done tactical shooter. Most of the time you will have atleast one squad member with you during missions, save for a select few that are unfortunately stealth-only, and the AI does its job fairly well at taking out the Pirates and Hegemony scum you will face. Also, this game features FMV cutscenes and the acting ain't bad I must say, certainly interesting to see how the members interact with each other when not on a mission. The sound design in game is quite good too, especially when you're getting hit by enemy fire as it makes you feel slightly panicked from the relentless fire that your foes are unleashing. Certainly a must for those who like Looking Glass' games as well as tactical games in general, even more so if it is sci-fi like this.

TerraNova spoiled me in the 90s for what tactical games should be and this still holds up for me.

Nice.

Terra Nova is a good nostalgia trip. Missions are clearly explained, short and not too difficult. It's cool to have to give an order from time to time to your partners and there's a nice sense of relief when your objectives are completed and you run to the pick up point. tips: - The robot can look up and down and it's quite useful when enemies attack from above or below. - The visibility can be increased by clicking on the top left of the screen. - If the game crash on start-up, maybe you're using the french version and doesn't work. Install the English one. (It worked for me).

Blast from my childhood

Absolute gem from Looking Glass Technologies. Great action, fun story, and surprisingly decent acting in the FMV cutscenes. Worth it for anyone who enjoys action mech games, or who wants to complete their Looking Glass collection.

Great Game

This Game is very entertaining. I have the original CD, and I enjoy it even today. It is similar to Mechwarrior. But this game has normal human size armors and you have to work in a team. That's the real fun in this game. You have to bring back the whole team, to go on in the game. There are little movies to bring a story between the missions. And the movies motivates you to push on. The stage are earthlike planets and moons. I played this game so many times. I love it. Even the installation is made in the original cd, with great love. I never found a similar game again. I would buy this game, if I had not the cd. I wished more than one time, that there would be a sequel. If you like to fight in a team, on planets, with own weather environment different between the missions, or different gravity circumstances on your mission area. Then you find it here. It is worth the money for sure. It is a must have! Please read the other reviews as well, they are very accurate. Happy hunting.
