Tainted Grail: Conquest

Game is fun to learn but once learned, slow and repetitive. Quite a few glitches that make playing very difficult

This is an odd game to review. It has all of the features that should make for a successful video game, such as great graphics, good voice acting, multiple classes, etc.. However, in its attempt to blend a 3rd-person RPG experience with a deck-builder approach, it completely falls flat. Combat, which is frequent, is quite stale and unimaginative. Also, the cards are very alike, simply tweaking stats for damage. It is a bit of a shame really, since it is obvious that a lot of effort was put into the presentation of the material. Anyhow, I cannot recommend this game. If you want an RPG deckbuilder, try something like Trials of Fire or Roguebook, If you want a 3rd-person Action RPG game, try Diablo or Grim Dawn.

Atm. I can't recommend the game! It's only a tech demo, there is not much content. Don't get me wrong, this is about the current state of the game not about any future release/content! It really looks great, has great voice acting and I really like, beside the two mentioned points, the combination of RPG, level up your char, loot based... "card game". The game has potential but what I have seen also a lot of work to do, for example balacing. I played the conquest mode and "died" 0 times... you really have to try to "die". After finishing the 3 bosses I was killing the rest without using candles to get 2000 wyrdstones for leveling up my balcksmith. The level up of the black smith and giving him crafting materials was also a quit confusing result.

Not much to add. Story is... ok (why so many are excited about it?). Lore is kinda what you except from soulslike game. Gameplay though... really tedious. Also owning to the fact that game has so many classes, some of those are unbalanced as hell. Music and graphics are great. Real problem is the boredom as battles progressively get longer.

...cut off date, when Tainted Grail became two different games. Bought it in mid january and just refunded it for having to additionally pay for the fall of avalon.
