Amazing
Whilst the developers were perhaps exaggerating somewhat when they referred to this as the most innovative shooter in years, it definitely does go far in that direction. The game play strikes a great balance between being very easy to quickly get into and deceptively complex. This is one of those cases where minimalism and streamlining were the exact right choices and make it better and not worse. If it's black, it's a weapon, you can hit someone with it or shoot someone with it, and throw it, red guys will kill you if you don't do it to them first, if it's white it means you can't pass through it. No hud, no reloading, you can only carry one weapon at a time and it's the one you see on screen. You die from one bullet but so do they. If you're not moving then everything else either isn't or is only moving really slowly. The story is compelling and explor ing important themes. I really appreciate that it does not break the format, switch perspectives or introduce things like cutscenes. I understand some people hate how short this is and certainly if you only play the story then yes it is over very quickly. And if you're just not the type of person who's going to play the challenge modes and Endless then for sure it might be frustrating. If I had gotten this at anything other than a tremendous discount I probably would have felt like my money was wasted - but then under those circumstances I always do so I guess that doesn't count for much. The graphics are stylized in a way that both make it unique visually and also serves as commentary. I will not elaborate on that; I'll just say I was very satisfied with the answers to questions that I got over the course of this. Honestly the one negative that I do agree with is that the physics for throwing can lead to frustration because they are simply not completely dependable. That is a problem for something that is such a big part of this. That's the one reason this is not getting a perfect score. Worth your time for sure

Interesting concept, not fully realized.
Superhot is one of the few games I’ve played that I would say is hurt by having a story. The story is some fairly cliche bullshit, and only acts as a thin veneer of explanation of why you are playing. It honestly annoyed me every time it got thrust in my face. The game itself is fine; it’s a FPS where things barely move unless you do, and everything dies in one hit (including you). It accomplishes that goal fine, and the game itself is fun, if frustrating at times. The primary problem is that there’s so little content. The main campaign can be sewn up in about two hours, and after that you just have time attacks and special challenge modes. For $25, it’s really too little. It’s especially frustrating that there’s no level editor available, as a minimalist game like this seems like it would be perfect for user content. There is a DLC pack coming, but as far as I know it’s free only to PS4 and Steam users. My advice is to wait for a price drop or a sale before you buy.

Short but unique and fun
This game is short, yes, but ultimately it offers unique gameplay that is done so well that I keep coming back for more. Fortunately there are both endless/challenge modes that should keep you satisfied for quite some time. Yes, you will be doing the same thing over and over, but personally I feel like I still have plenty of ways to improve with the few mechanics there are. My favorite is the timed 20 kills challenge. Enemies are all around you and you have to keep your wits together and use every advantage you have to survive, and you have to be quick doing so too. All that being said, I wouldn't pay the full asking price, that price is too high. I got it for 15 dollars and that seems a fair price.

Great mechanics, smooth gameplay, no bs
Simple game mechanic, very well implemented and tuned. Extra points for not including any annoying time wasting bullshit, (like very spread appart checkpoints, or the game not saving on every checkpoint, no endless developer logos in the beginning, shitty menus, or any other of that annoying practices that are so common). The campaign is short, but the best part is mastering the game mechanics throung the various challenges and endless mode that come after finishing it. Glad I reinstalled the game and decided to try them! Got it on a sale but, on hindsight, would be willing to pay the current full price (23€).
