SteamWorld Quest is the roleplaying card game you’ve been waiting for! Lead a party of aspiring heroes through a beautifully hand-drawn world and intense battles using only your wits and a handful of cards. Take on whatever threat comes your way by crafting your own deck choosing from over 100 unique punch-cards!
What awaits you is a luscious treasure chest filled with gold, dragons, vivid worlds, magic, knights in shining armor as well as XP, turn-based battles and all that good RPG stuff! The game’s humorous mix of traditional fantasy and steampunk robots makes for an unforgettable experience with lots of laughs.
I suppose all of the SteemWorld games have had a mobile game feel to some extent, but I liked Heist and Dig was fairly good. There were enough good elements that I didn't really notice and sometimes a simpler game is nice. This one seems like pure bad mobile game, way too zoomed in, characters competing to be the most obnoxious person on earth, no sense of exploration and nothing remotely interesting about the world. I'd guess the card game could be worse but it has no real depth to it so far (I only made it a few levels and have very little interest in continuing) and the difficulty seems random and not interesting. I can't recall playing a card game I like less.
I like card games and my favorites are Card City Nights and Etherlords 2. Deep Sky Derelects is not as good overall IMO, but the card game part is good, much better than this game.
I enjoyed Steamworld Quest. It's not overly hard or long, but the wonderful (as usual) visuals and sound as well as engaging card builder game mechanics make it a worthy purchase. Overall if you like their games, I'd say this isn't quite up to the standards of Steamworld Dig but is better than Steamworld Quest.
Finished game in around 15 hours on Squire (easy) setting and about 25 hours on Knight (medium). In general I didn't have to do much in the way of deck building or complex strategy (or even use consumables) on Squire and only a bit of that on Knight.
No achievements here on GoG which was disappointing.
I love this game mostly becauseno mouse is required. I can play from the comfort of my bed as my wife sleeps next to me. engaging but not stressful. Perfect way to unwind before bed. Please keep making games like this.
