SteamWorld Heist

I didn't hear of this game before it was on sale. It was an oversight to not have played this game before. A true hidden gem. The graphic style is fun and original. The story is just okay, but the quirky characters have unqiue abilities which help make the crew a diverse an interesting bunch. The gameplay is excellent. The turn based gun combat is just fantastic. My point of criticism would be the difficulty. If you play above default the start is quite rough, so I turned it back to default. Midway the game got real easy and at the end it peaked up again. I wish NG+ would keep levels and loot and level op the opponents instead of completely resetting. A missed opportunity for replayability there. Despite these flaws this game is well worth picking up if the premise appeals to you.

I really enjoy this atmosphere. Be it the music, the game mechanics, the interface, the story, the drawings & the animations. Tested both on Linux and Windows, never encountered any issues. Played with a gamepad. My only wish is that there was a co-op mode, either in the story, via map editor or randomly generated content. These types of games really benefit from having a friend to play alongside you. I can only hope they add it someday, it's never toO late !

Honestly, I wasn't expecting this. The art resembles high quality old flash animations and has a lot of charm. The gameplay is absolutely fun and rewarding. I love how many different team members are there, and by the end of the game I had most of my favs maxed out and everybody else on at least lvl 8 because trying new team comps was fun! Hats off to the dev team. Also I love Steam Powered Giraffe now.

Pretty good game overall. Finished one playthrough in less than 15hrs
